Surrealist Fantasies: the Gate

A long time ago, when the youth was a blessed treasure and the undersigned had enough energy from a goat to constantly throw into the bush - understand this phrase made, in all its senses and meanings - I had a dream. They are wrong, if they think that I intend to plagiarize the famous phrase of that modern icon against racism, which was Martin Luther King.

Actually, I had many dreams at that time. And although it would be unfair to detract from some others, whose memory I had the fortune or the success of conserving, this dream to which I refer, was especially revealing.

I will not tire them, bored them with the details, although it would be unfair to continue talking, without breaking an honorable spear in favor of that Black Knight, whose metaphorically speaking is the unconscious and the challenge to the imagination that clearly assume the language with which it is expressed .

P1170701.JPG

I will only add, ultimately, the phrase that accompanied that singular apocalypse of seemingly meaningless images, which I think can be an excellent culmination to describe part of the rich symbolism associated with the object that gives title to this post: 'the Key of Osiris opens the Door '.

P1170706.JPG

I will not extend too much, in explaining who Osiris is supposed to be, because surely the world has some notion of that rich Egyptian mythology that has reached us, as a rich legacy of our ancestors. Suffice it to know, that comparatively speaking, Osiris would be the Lord of Hades or Egyptian Underworld.

The Gate, then, would be, metaphorically speaking as well, that border that separates two antagonistic worlds: the outer world and the inner world. The outside world, that which we all see, with which we face every day and in whose safety we conduct ourselves with the indifference of everyday life. And the inner world, that which separates us from the rest and the rest of us and that is a mystery.

When a taboo is broken and a door that apparently does not belong to us opens, a wide range of possibilities and archetypes also open, developing all its color and mystery, like the beautiful tail of a peacock. Osiris, was the Lord of the Underworld of the Egyptian Amenti, in the same way that Christ was, as He himself said: "I am the Door and whoever enters through me will be saved."
