Kite building then flying to see who made the best one to take to the air is fun, bamboo and tissue paper was what we used.
Interesting to see this still set aside as a day families are able to gather and enjoy simple pleasure in kite flying and sharing sweet meat treats on the roof tops.

Yes it's a nice festival which is actually for 2 days 14 and 15 January every year. Here in india lots of festival celebrated and in my city most as we have mostly festival for 2 days and some are 10 days too. It's a great fun to enjoy with family.
No festivals flying kites I would imagine it's brings the child out in everyone.
