Artsy Newbie

in OCD4 years ago

Hello everyone! I know this is cliche but this is my first time doing blogs and I’m not even confident on how to make one! It is quite funny actually because I’m here and doing an introductory. So, how about we start what my content would be.

Another drawing from 2018 I guess, Sunflower

I really love doing art, whether it is traditional or digital art. I started making drawings since I was a kindergarten student when our teacher told us to draw ourselves. And with the help of my Aunt’s maid, I soon began to realize my passion drawing and making artsy stuff. I really love drawing cartoons or animes since watching cartoons on television, movies and reading books with illustrations are my favorite past time as a kid up until as an adult.

Shout out for Studio Ghibli films! My fave is Whisper of the Heart.

So as growing up, I have this fondness of drawing 2D art, cartoon or anime style. And makes me feel connected to my past self that here I am; I am making art. By the way, here are some of my arts.

One of the recent drawing I made in quarantine. A fanart of one of my fave book from Sarah Mlynowski Manhattan Series, featuring the iconic strawberry and black dress.

I am still a student though so please don’t assume too much about my art skills hehe (I am open for constructive criticism so feel free to comment down below :3). Anyway, since the pandemic hits, I tried doing digital arts and balance it out with some traditional drawings. I am very comfortable doing ink drawings or watercolor and it just gives me the vibes of happiness and in control of my self and exploring techniques or sometimes combining them into one masterpiece (and I know my art prof WOULD ROAST ME because of this, sorry prof uwu). Especially in watercolor though because I can mixed color freely and explore some techniques.

Three above are my mini-series called Watercolor times.

Anyway, if you guys wondering who I really am, you can just call me Bunsai because I really LOVE TO HAVE A PLANT LIKE THAT but my mom won’t let me so I name myself, Bunsai. My pronouns are she/her if you Hivers are wondering. I also love plants and listening to music. Reading books with any genre and watching movies! Be it romance, rom-com, animation or thrillers bu not the horror types actually. I’m from the Cebu, Philippines and a striving College student at UP-C. I value my relationships and friendships with my love ones so dearly. My friends would describe me as loud, very friendly, and open minded-person. Sometimes I made corny jokes just to make them laugh. I love seeing them happy. And I love encouraging my friends or family members that they can do what they wanted to do because I do believe that they can do it. I hate to see them heartbroken. So, I’m trying my very best to cheer them up! And one way to catch up with my old and new friends are going out and having fun with them. Either be food tripping, mall lurking or just hanging out at one’s house and watching movies.

And my dearest friend invited me to make a blog, an art blog so that I would somehow get out of my comfort zone and interact with other amazing people here in Hive because truth to be told, I’m very shy and I AM A LEGIT AWKWARD PERSON. That’s a fact. Even my younger sister told me to toughen up and meet other people. So, here I am, trying to open up little by little. I really love to share my passion with everyone and somehow inspired others that little by little, we can help one another and grow as a family too.

Recent watercolor portrait that I made for my fam. The reference is an old photo as you see.

I hope you guys would look forward for artsy stuff; digital arts on a whim, traditional art in a heartbeat, school stuff art, songs I currently jam into and movies or books that you want to know or hopefully, my daily life. This is Bunsai, a little hooman who wants to share her art into this awesome community. See ya around earthlings!

Yiieeeee, finally!Welcome to hive @jaxxca.bunsai

Welcome to Hive. Hope you enjoy your stay. Hope to see you more active.
Just a tip but it's best not to use the #artph tag, it's an inactive tag. You only need the #philippines and #hiveph tag to have more visibility from the PH community.

One thing to keep in mind when sharing your art works is always mention your source or links to your references for inspiration. Crediting the original owners of art works is a norm here.
