Have you taken any writing classes at all? I was required to take a technical writing class as part of my drafting and design degree, and I found it helpful for my current library work whenever I write instructions for craft programs. I also make flyers and posters for events at my branch. Perhaps even more useful than that class for my blog writing was reading Dreyer's English by Benjamin Dreyer. Highly recommended for anyone who writes anything, really.
