Hello Everyone.
I hope we all had a wonderful day. A little piece on how successful today was.

COVID-19 has been discovered to affect different people in different ways. Some infected people develop mild to moderate illness and recover without going to the hospital for treatment.
Some of the symptoms noticed are ;fever ,cough, loss of taste or smell
sore throat, headache
One can be a carrier of the disease and because of his or her strong immune system the person will not fall ill but the person can transmit to others if the protocols are not observed.
Today I volunteered to join a team in Akwa Ibom State Nigeria to sensitise and create more awareness on the need for COVID-19 Vaccination.

Information reaching us was that a greater number of the people living in the community did not go to the designated Health facilities to get themselves vaccinated of which some of thier reasons were that the distance from the designated Health facilities is far for them, some immediately added that there don't have transport fares to get them to the facilities which I did not agree with them sequel to the fact most of them pay thier way to markets even far from the Health facilities to get food items.
Most of them feel that anything Health related should be done at the comfort of thier homes. So if you can travel twice the distance to get food items why not apply same to matters that has to do with your Health.
A certain percentage had misconceptions regarding the COVID-19 vaccines because of what the heard from friends and family members as well as unverifiable and erroneous post on social media which I feel that this is the major reason of low or poor turn out of people at the vaccination post.
The failed to understand that if the get vaccinated the are protecting themselves and thier families.
I will want to sincerely appreciate the media houses who had decided to join hands together with the NCDC team to disannual every contrary information that has been presented against taking the Vaccine.
In Line with the implementation of mass COVID -19 vaccination and to scale up the vaccination in various communities in Nigeria the team had to take the message to the streets by walking 🚶‍♀️

round the town with IEC materials (COVID-19 banners) also the Vaccination teams had to be splitted in smaller groups and sent to areas that were densely populated. With this, a good number of people were recorded to be vaccinated.
We did not leave out the information on protocols that should be observed even when the Vaccine is taken while we spoke to the people. Some of the protocols presented to the people were;

  1. wear a face mask 😷
  2. stay 6 feet away from others
  3. Avoid crowed places and poorly ventilated spaces
  4. Wash hands often with soap and water 💧 💧
  5. use hand sanitizers

Get Vaccinated Today
COVID-19 is real.
We have pledged to keep spreading the message even to the Hard-to -reach areas
