Down by the river.

Up in the mountain, down in the valley, part 2.

The next stop in my and Nero´s little adventure in Skjomen was to take a closer look at the river that flows into the fjord. The river is called Skjoma and follow the Skjomen valley up from the mountain around 30 km.

We had some days with cold weather, but the last days was warmer. That results in less ice in the outlet of the river. I had hoped for more, you can see there are still ice at the riverbanks. It is high tide with water over the ice. This results in the green colour in the front of the picture. I like the contrast against the ice, snow and cloudy sky.

This picture is taken higher up in the river from a bridge crossing the river. In the far end is the outlet in the fjord.

River4.jpg

The picture above and under is taken upward the river. From here and up the valley the river is gradually covered with more ice and snow.

After the stop with the outlet we drove up the valley where the river is coming down from the mountain. Until then, have a great evening.

Best regards

Wow! Very beautiful scenery! Emerald water! Such beautiful pristine place in this world!

Why is the color green?

The colour green because there is ice under the seawater. Enhance the colour in the ice.

Very interesting effect

It makes me shiver such cold icy water. Hopefully will be soon and everything will melt :)

Whithin a month or two the ice will be gone 🌞
