The day I revisited my old friend, the elephant at one of the Conservation Response Units (CRU) at Sampoinit Aceh Jaya. This elephant friend of mine is named Apek, and he was my best friend when I was doing the nature conservation service at CRU. I used to play with this elephant a lot, and every day I bathed it when it was late afternoon.
You all must know that an elephant must also be bathed cleanly, so that the health of its skin is always maintained, this CRU in Aceh Jaya is one of the best CRUs in Aceh, why is that?
First, the natural scenery here is very beautiful, the river that runs around the CRU complex makes it a source of water for CRU guards and elephants, so you don't have to bother to go looking for water or use water that you have to pay every month.
Second, there are many elephants here, but the one who can always be friends with is the elephant named Apek. Basically, the purpose of establishing this CRU is to preserve the elephants in Aceh, Indonesia, without disturbing the elephant's habitat. is the nature where the CRU was established is not polluted, and the elephants here are free to roam as long as they do not cross the line to reach the local community settlements.
This CRU was established to tackle the existence of poachers in the forests who have evil intentions to kill the elephants here. Then, another goal is to keep the residents' settlements from being attacked by the elephants here who are still not tame to humans. So this CRU is very useful.
One of the CRU guards is Sugianto's grandfather, he is the longest guard in this CRU, he has been guarding this CRU for 15 years, he always bathes Apek while I am no longer here, but today Apek is very happy, because she met me again after over time, he has grown and become a mighty bull elephant.
That's all for my trip today, this is a story about two friends from different natures, Apek is an elephant and I'm a human, but we can still be good friends, let's protect the nature around us together.

Very cool! I've only seen elephants at zoos. Would be really cool to be this up close to one. You should totally post stuff like this in the Amazing Nature community.
