WHAT WENT WRONG? A WRONG STEP BUT A RIGHT ANSWER/RESULT

THIS IS ACTUALLY MY FIRST POST HERE IN THE OCD COMMUNITY

Let me quickly recall an incidence that happened while in primary school, precisely primary 5 as it was called then. This was around 1999.

We had a new teacher, who was to take us on Mathematics to prepare us for our first school leaving and common entrance examination.

On this faithful day, she gave us some work to do and left a specific instruction on the method to be used in solving the problems. The questions were about five(5) in number.

With confidence , I started to attempt the questions and when I was done I submitted my book for assessment.
But before the books were distributed back to us, the teacher had done the corrections on the chalk board.

I was excited because the answers were same with what I got. But to my greatest surprise, when I got my note book, I discovered I was marked wrong for all the questions.

I quickly approached the teacher to let me her of the mistake she made in assessing my work and she explained to me that, while my answers were correct, the method I used were wrong and hence everything became wrong.

Now, what I am trying to say. It's never true that "the steps we take in life to arrive at a goal/target doesn't matter" . It definitely does.

I got the answers to the questions but because the steps were wrong , the whole effort was a wasted one. My excitement turned the opposite.

Lets not do what we would regret tomorrow. Lets always critically weigh our actions before executing them in anything we do in life.

Much love
