Hyper-realistic Portrait work

in GEMS4 years ago (edited)

So, I started this a couple of weeks ago. Honestly, I've had doubts about the direction I've been taking with my art recently, I go on certain platforms and see all these amazing artists with their incredible works and I feel small. I ask myself what makes me different from all of these insanely talented artists? What makes me unique? Why should people resonate more with my works than they do with others? The market is so big and saturated that there are hyper-realistic artists at every turn. Do I keep going in this direction or is a change needed? Working on this piece gave me a certain peace away from those thoughts and it was the first time in a long time that the drive to keep going, to perfect it was really strong.

I really really enjoyed working on this piece and after a lot of thought, definitely want to try out other media. I've always been a sucker for graphic art, its possibilities are limitless and I hope to explore it and more in the near future.
