How determination changed my best friend's life

THIS IS A TRUE LIFE STORY ABOUT MY FRIEND

Hello hivers, today I want to talk a little about how I see determination to be like driving from a true life story. if I am not getting it wrong, I should first of all define determination in my own terms and understanding.

Determination is the act of the willingness and passion being putting together in one energy in order to achieve a specific goal

The definition you see is the way I see determination to be like and applying it to life I have actually come across. This is a true life story about my friend that had so much determination to the extent that his family didn't have money to train him to school but he picked himself up and got a job then registered himself for a part-time studies. I remember how he will not rest because he will have to go to work and come back in the night hours coupled with going to school every Saturdays and Sundays. He will make sure that he goes to school and meet up with his assignments, tests and every single thing that is needed, and funny enough he was among the top brilliant students in his department.

He graduated for about two(2) years ago and his mom actually came for his graduation wearing his graduation gown and it was so heart touching as he was willing to go to the extreme to make sure that he breaks the record of his family not being able to train him to school because they are poor. After his graduation i was still keeping in touch with him and at some point he was telling me there was no job and the job he found himself doing he could only receive 40,000 naira a month which was not enough but still he was grateful to have such job as it is very difficult to even get a job that will pay you the least 20,000 naira here in Nigeria.

Just about a year ago that was last year April he told me he wanted to travel to Lagos to take a programming course as his friend back in school invited him to stay with him while he takes to course. He was actually asking me if it was a good idea for him to go to a place that he doesn't have any family and quitting his job not having anything to be giving him money for the moment but, I told him it was better to take a risk and see how far he will go than stay in one place and never know what could have happened. He travelled towards the early days of April 2022 and the programming course was meant to last for approximately 1 year but he decided to round it up within just three (3) months. When he told me he needed to run the top within just three months and see how he could get a job because he couldn't bear having his friend feeding him and taking care of the house and light bills for that long. I really understood him and I told him that it was going to be very hard but I believed in him that he was going to get through it. It was already three months and he was telling me how difficult it was trying to piled up everything together and that at some point he got stucked and that it was more like everything that he has learnt so far is no longer there. He took another three months plus which is approximately 6 months plus and he told me he wasn't sure if he was ready but he wanted to apply for a job which he did online and he got accepted to work with a Nigerian bank and as I type this right now, he receives a salary of 400,000 naira per month as a junior developer in the bank.

It is really amazing how I always encourage myself whenever I look at his situation, just few days back he sent me 105,000 thousand naira for always encouraging him all these years and that is the very first salary he got. He is actually the only true friend I have as a male friend that we don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, but a genuine friendship. It is very rare to have a genuine friendship with a guy these days and I really appreciate God for him coming to my life. Whenever he is having a problems, he always share them with me and whenever I am having problems I share them with him as well because we are very close like siblings and we understand each other perfectly well...

How did I get to know him?

He was my senior in the same school that I went to, and I still remember how I will cook and call him to come and eat. some days he will only have one meal and some days he will not even have food to eat until I call him to come eat or get him food from my house.

It was really that bad that some days he doesn't have food to eat, but the most important thing here right now is that he actually was willing to make changes and those changes are already taking place because I know he is going to be somebody, somebody great in the society that will actually encourage people to be more courageous about their parts in life.
