You are literally in the middle of nowhere and I understand your feeling. We have moved every six months to two years for a while, in a worldwide fashion. I understand missing home and its familiarity and the love left behind. Because I knew my time would be short where I was, I made the most of where I was and immersed myself in the culture and the people. It wasn't always easy, but, it was always interesting.
Yours would be near impossible for me. Having no connection and having Covid? So, I congratulate you on making it! I am surprised you are still in the US unless you are working towards a Ph.D.? I hope life gets better where you are. It will be a most unsatisfying experience - and we cannot have that. :(
I like getting pictures! The parades are always huge, but, maybe because they are televised?

I applied for a TPS for Venezuelans. No , no PHD ( long story).
I have never seen a parade like that. Yes, maybe it is because it would be televised.
What do you mean by this?😂
Is that what you think of OHio? 😂
Not at all, but, you are far and away. Kent is beautiful, my cousin went to school (more west) and it was a good distance from the ocean. We like the ocean! Anywhere far from it is in the middle of nowhere. 😂
We have a few relatives in Columbus, Ohio, and the surrounding area. The farms are wonderful and life is good.
Yes , I love the farms here. I have been to the ones located at the Amish Country.
