MY VISIT TO THE LARGEST TECH MARKET IN NIGERIA - COMPUTER VILLAGE, IKEJA

in OCD2 years ago

Hey Fellas❤🚀
Hope we good?

I'd be sharing my experience visiting the largest🤯 tech market in Nigeria and probably west-africa.

WHY DID I VISIT THE MARKET?

Yeah so there's a reason for every action taken deliberately right? Yeah 😇, so few weeks back I started to have issues with my laptop battery and finally it died so it needed a replacement. It took few weeks to get the money so when I finally got it, I headed to the market (where I got it) to get it done. Now you know why I visited the largest tech market in Nigeria 😁🤝.

So from now till the end of this blog, I'd be doing something I call pictorial storytelling. What that basically means is that I'd be using each of the pictures below as a guideline for narrating my experience. Hope you enjoy this and probably learn a thing or two.

So, I finally arrived at the market on a promising morning and as usual the market was already crowded with consumers and sellers. This pictorial location is like the heart of the market for me, whenever I see these buildings I know that I'm at Computer Village, Ikeja.

LEGGO!!🚀

My phone screen is broken so I stopped briefly at Carlcare (a renowned phone repair facility in Nigeria) to get the price of the screen. I use a Samsung A12 mobile phone presently.

On getting inside, I was directed to go to the 5th floor of the building as that's where they deal with Samsung phones.

Climbing the stairs, I saw some inspirational quotes and I took pictures of a few of them. You can meditate on them and probably learn a thing or two.

SO A QUICK LESSON FROM THIS ONE, DON'T STOP TRYING💪💪📌

SO ANOTHER LESSON I LEARNT IS THIS, GIVE NO ROOM FOR MEDIOCRITY, WORK UNTIL YOU GAIN RECOGNITION FOR MASTERY IN YOUR FIELD

I finally got to the 5th floor and I got to know that the price of my phone's screen is about $40😭. I left there confused as to whether I'd get a new phone or pay the ridiculous amount to get my screen fixed. Since it's still functioning properly I have some time to decide on that😁

Leaving the facility, I went to the store I got the laptop and paid about $30 to get a new battery. The one I'm holding in the picture below is the dead one. So I got it replaced and I began my journey back home.

On my way to board a bus at the park, I saw a mall and since I was hungry (I didn't eat before leaving home), I decided to get something to eat quickly. This mall was very beautiful and well organised, they had a cinema, clothing stores e.t.c but I could only visit their supermarket as I was in a hurry to get home.

So I entered the supermarket named Jàrá and I got something to hydrate and energize myself

Here's what I got below, fruit juice for hydration and glucose biscuits for energy. I got these for less than $1.

I left the mall, got on a bus and headed home. That was how I concluded my visit to Computer Village, Ikeja.

Ahhhh $40 for a screen is too pricey. Is the LCD is the problem? Why its too pricey OMG. Anyways you still enjoy your journey looking for that so thta's cool. But deciding on whay to do now is the hardest. Buy a new phone or what? Hope you decided on that later.

Yes it's both for the screen and touchpad, Samsung also has a reputation for expensive phone screens. Would you help me decide? I'm kind of stuck here. Thanks for engaging.

Well, IKEJA market is a very big place, I still went there about 2 weeks ago to get a phone for my younger sister, passing that mall. It is all just nice..

Well, I can't say I'm surprised at the amount of the Samsung's screen, that's just Samsung for you

So big mann, I don't think I can ever get comfortable there😂.Wow, two weeks ago? Then we might have crossed paths because that's around the time I went too.

Omo yes o, I thought the prices would be more considerable since it's a lower end samsung.

I thought of that too.
A12 is not a small series oo, nothing concern Samsung concern small lol...

And it would have been nice to see you.

Samsung parts are so expensive😩 I think it's worse in port Harcourt 🥲

Yes they are😫
But their devices are good though
Really? What makes things more expensive at PH?

Because those parts are imported from lagos to port harcourt most times. That's why it's more expensive here.

Ohh that's true, cost of logistics and other stuffs. We should just have those companies coming over here.

Exactly oh😑 that is why I just prefer to buy gadgets outside Nigeria. The prices wow me. Gadgets are so costly here.😑

Totally understandable, it's just sad that the government isn't creating the proper environment for these companies to consider moving over here.

Honestly, they are not bothered about that. If we have more toll gates in Nigeria. I don't think gadgets will be as expensive as they are.

Wow, you are really good at pictorial storytelling, lol. I enjoyed every bit of it, it was almost as if I went with you to get your laptop battery.

The tech market looks really big and the building you went to that has different quotes looks beautiful too.

The quote that got me was the second one, which says "work until you no longer have to introduce yourself", it's really deep and I'm so happy you shared it with us, thank you.

Happy new month 🌺.

I came here via the @ocd curation report, if you might be wondering how I ended up here and I'm so glad I did.

Thank you so much Hope
