IMAGO DEI

Our little windswept, sleepy, tiny person had her baby dedication at church today. As we sat and exchanged gold fish (aunt hack) throughout the sermon, I couldn’t quite wrap my mind around the fact that my tiny niece, clocking in at a whopping 19lbs, is here to do big things. She is here for a specific purpose.

Not because she “should” and not because she feels pressure because of what society puts on her. But because she was born in the image of God, as a child of God. Imago dei.

Given insane talents and a purpose that I can’t wait to see come to fruition. She doesn’t have to be all things at all times because that isn’t who she was called to be. That isn’t who any of us were called to be.

I think when you have an understanding of God and an understanding of who you are as a child of His, it takes the scary out of things. It takes the “need to know” out of things. We can release control and just be, because we are already on track for a purpose larger than ourselves.

Big time clap claps for that in the world of Quinn.

Ps- so far her talents include saying “bye-bye” and pointing to the door whenever I’m over, but we have high hopes things will turn soon.
