Today I achieved a major milestone on my 850th day posting on what was is now Hive. I couldn't have done it without support from the community.

Does reputation really mean anything?

The rep system is said to be somewhat flawed by many users and I do agree with this for the most part. Vote bots made it way too easy to level up your rep, however those vote bots were not free and time was still a factor. If a user leveled their account quicker through this process they still were increasing the number of transactions our blockchain totaled, which looked great for us on paper. Sadly many users were promoting low quality content and this was making our trending page look unpredictable (in a bad way.)

I still seem to have a great deal of respect for almost any account that I see over rep 70. It shows the user has been around for awhile and that investment of time means a lot to me since I have done the same. In other words rep means nothing to some and a little to others. I believe it is my love for video games and ranking up that gets me so excited to see the 75 next to my profile.

I started on Steem on December 1st, 2017 and have been on Hive since its inception less than two weeks ago. Besides the ability to post my content on a decentralized platform, it has been the comments with other users that have motivated me the most. Whether it be on my blog or their own, I love interacting with other humans. Sure the upvotes are a huge plus too, but I appreciate any upvote (not just the big ones.)

So truly thank you for any time you have ever communicated with me on Hive/Steem. I will always be thankful for the genuine connections. I won't be stopping at 75, I aim to see 80 one day; that sure is going to take awhile. With the amount of joy I get from Hive, I know I will succeed.
