My Introduction to the HIVE/PEAKD community

Hey everyone, my name is Mike and this is my introduction post, as recommended by @anggreklestari. I am a disc golfing, hiking, mathematician that recently became interested in block chain development and now also might have a slight addiction to Splinterlands(@catchacannonball).

I live in the Eastern U.S. and recently got back from a trip to Oregon/Washington... hence all the beautiful mountain pictures.

To be honest I have only just scratched the surface of this community and I am not sure where it will lead but I am hopeful I will meet some interesting and like-minded people to interact with. Most of my posts will be either entirely silly (see Ballad of Kron and LLama), or possibly educational. I teach complex math for a living, so if I can help explain any technical aspects of the block chain or hive I am happy to do so.

Outside of math and hive I like to be... well... outside. I play a lot of disc golf and also love to hike, kayak, do photography, and play guitar. My partner is an avid rock climber, and I dabble but I try to keep my feet on the ground as much as possible. I also try to remain active in local and national government to push progressive policies, especially those that are being asked for and would benefit marginalized communities.

Anyway, I am happy to answer any questions you might have and feel free to say "Hi". I will try to do the same on introduction posts I come across. Thanks!

Your first pic clearly shows you are certainly a vegan. What is disc golf man?

Haha, definitely not a vegan... Disc golf is a combination of hiking and throwing a disc (like a frisbee but different) through the woods to a basket. It is like ball golf, but much better.
