My 2020: Just a normal day of a booked up Nigerian student

in OCD5 years ago

A normal day of a Nigerian student isn't as normal as any of us thought before getting into the university (college), most of us thought that the morning sun will kick off the day with it's bright and tender light, accompanied by cock crows and birds chipping but quite sad that those parts of our fantasies were the first to get crush by the harsh weather and strict school system.

Defining a normal day of a Nigerian student depends on what part of the school you live in (hostel or off hostel), for those in the hostel (been there), the day starts with a very cold morning and a long trek to get water for bathing and getting ready for school which mostly results to not making it to school in time while for those off hostel (current state), the morning is also cold but water is been made available and we're kinda the first to get to the class.

According to the school's time table, all lectures are to begin by 8 am on a normal day but I don't think there is a day to be classified as normal for the morning lectures, most lecturers come before the time and peg their classes to 7 am locking the rest of the students who couldn't meet up outside, which I've always been a victim :(
Although most times I normally get pardoned and allowed to enter into the classroom, by then the teaching has already gone half and I'll be left lost.

Fast forward to noon/break time, which most of my friends return back to there apartments and hostels, I normally spend mine in the school environment alone till the next class which begins either 2 pm or 4 pm
So I spend 1-2hours on my phone playing games (PUBG mostly) and roaming around Whatsapp, Facebook and Twitter (thanks to my long-lasting battery), till it's time for the next class which ends in the evening.

And when I think my day it's almost over, I still have evening tutorials to attend to clarify most things I learned for the day and believe me, no one actually understands what most of the lectures, we just behave as if we do to save our time so we could tick the attendance the and exit the crowded hall.

After the evening tutorials, I'll finally retire back to my room, take a bath and turn ON my laptop to check up on whats happening on the blockchain, coinmarkercap, my accounts, my blog (https://blockspill.com) and hunting a product on steemhunt.
Then spending the rest of the evening hours surfing all over the web for tech trends so I won't get outdated ;), will also make a meal or sometimes just go for noddles or roadsides foods which normally takes me out in the night and back by 10 pm.

Then spend the rest of the night taking on online courses on design and programming which I picked interest in about a year ago, then I'll either sleep off on my laptop as usual or turn it off and straight to my bed, getting ready for the next day.
