Hello, Hive! It's been days since I last posted and this is due to so many things going on and I am a little bit exhausted, yet I smell victory. Yes, it is a valid emotion.
What am I talking about?
I was observing. I was reading the news. I was listening to people. I was mentally raging. I was kind of furious, but we all know that nothing born of disappointment nor anger helps anything.
To those who have no idea, the Philippines just had the national election yesterday and I have been watching political rallies for the past weeks. I admire one of the presidential candidates like a lot and that caused my attendance on blogging sites idle.
I could hear my deceased old folks screams inside my head. Our country has been struggling for the past 30 years. I heard them say, "bring back the old Philippines!" The voting is almost done, I can almost breathe that the victory is going to be in my favor. Differences divide us all. What if we do the opposite?
UNITY
I know this is a political matter, but I won't go deeper than that. This is all about how I feel. We are mindful that there is abhorrent and awful things in our reality. It is a part of our existence. It will generally be a piece of life. Yet, there are additionally such countless great, kind people, and sympathetic events as well. Let's hold onto that.
I will say it again. (I posted this on my Facebook timeline)
It is said, and I agree, that out of great chaos comes great change. We can't stop the conflict, no, but we can do our best to not add to the chaos and bitterness in our hearts. We can extend our hand to people who are different from us, we can help someone who needs it because we are humans, we are only humans and we can be better humans. Forgive yourself for any mistakes you made. Let any missed opportunities fade away. We all found strengths we didn't know we had. Let's hold onto that. Instead of searching for flaws to correct, search potential. We are all flawed, will always be flawed. I hope the next time I turn the news on, I won't be hearing words like "unfriend", "bobo/dumb", "thieves", "lutang/not on proper track" anymore. Let's change that to "love and peace" with "respect and humility" and it is always important to know it's good to have friends and that brings as all together again.

Trying to find the commonalities instead of exalting the differences is so necessary. I have lived the last few years in a polarised society, full of political conflicts. And from the insults and confrontations, nothing good has come out of all these years. xoxo amiga

You write the best ramblings.....they are quite inspiring and strengtheneing. Let's try to forgive ourselves for our false steps and look toward a brighter future so we can bring love and peace into it. For the past 2 months I found inner strength I never knew I had in me all these while. When I came to the point of breaking, that strength straightened me up.
