Shankar Mishra, accused of urinating on a woman passenger on an Air India flight from New York to Delhi, was arrested from Bengaluru late on Friday night. Earlier on Thursday, a team of four police officers from Delhi reached Bengaluru and launched a search for Mishra. A Delhi team, with the help of city police, visited Mishra's office and house in Marathahalli in Whitefield division on Friday, but to no avail. "First, a Delhi Police team visited his house in Marathahalli based on his last mobile location. Mishra's sister and other family members were present in the house. After searching the house, the team visited his office, collected some documents and left.

"Later in the night, police traced Mishra to another location in Bengaluru and arrested him after giving him a notice. Mishra had allegedly urinated on a 70-year-old woman in an inebriated state in business class on an Air India flight on November 26 last year. He was sacked from Us financial services company Wells Fargo on Friday. "Wells Fargo places employees on the highest standards of professional and personal behaviour and we find these allegations very disturbing. This person has been sacked from Wells Fargo," the company said.

The senior citizen had written a letter to Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran about the incident. "My clothes, shoes and bags were completely soaked in urine. The stewards followed me to the seat, verified that it smelled of urine, and sprayed disinfectant on my bags and shoes. The bag contained my passport, travel documents and other belongings, including currency.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a show-cause notice to Air India officials, including all pilots and crew members who operated the flight from New York to Delhi on November 26. Though the incident took place on November 26, Air India had not lodged an FIR at the Delhi Airport Police Station detailing the incident. The woman had written to Tata and the airline alleging that the crew members were not active in managing the very sensitive and painful situation... I am particularly distressed that the airline made no effort to ensure my safety or comfort during this incident.
