Mental Health and Pets

Hello, to all Hive users. Usually, I am a haiku writer and this is something new to me. Not so long ago we had an accident in a family which was a result of mental problems. After that, I was more engaged in mental health and reading articles on this theme is opening my eyes. I also got along with how good it is to have pets just to prevent mental lines. That's why today I would like to share with you, how important is to have a pet in your life.

Mental health is more important than physical health, especially when a disturbance in mental health can bring desires to the physical form. During a pandemic, mental illness is on the rise and there is a lot of reasons why. Anxiety and depression are easily caused in the situations like now, so that's why we should be extra careful. It is on us to take some precaution steps and try to maintain good mental health. Is that easy to do? Yes and no. There are many technics and tools to do that. However, I will focus on one not so obvious but we are sticking to it for centuries - having a pet. Having a pet can help relieve depression and anxiety, lower stress, and improve your heart health. It's been a long-held belief that pets can help people to recover from mental health problems, and recent studies have shown that the benefits of having a pet are as powerful as those of talking therapy. In this article, we explore how pets can be therapeutic for those suffering from conditions such as PTSD and social anxiety disorder, and what you need to know if you're thinking about getting a pet.

I have never known a better way to relieve stress than the unconditional love of animals. There is something soothing about patting a dog or playing with cats. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the circles that animals live in, which are much closer to ours than that of birds or insects. We're all just trying to find the way and be the best we can be. It's kind of a pity that animals don't have the chance to make themselves feel better by doing what we do when we're down, but then
again, it's their thing and they don't need us to feel better too.

Pets have been known to be therapeutic for centuries. People with pets often report feeling less lonely and more confident about themselves, and pets can provide a sense of purpose. These benefits are well documented, but the science behind how pets help people with mental health conditions is still unclear. One study has revealed that when a group of people who were experiencing symptoms of depression was given a dog to care for, they reported a decrease in symptoms. This could be because dogs require a lot of attention and love from their owners, which may relieve stress and anxiety. Another theory is that pet-owners spend more time outdoors which can improve mood. Finally, pet-owners may have lower rates of obesity due to their increased physical activity levels from walking their pets outside. In conclusion, there are many benefits to having a pet when it comes to mental health - but we don't know exactly why this is the case!

What pet is the best to relieve stress

Pets are a great source of stress relief. You can teach them tricks, cuddle with them, or let them roam around the house. They're never too busy to spend time with you. They're also generally used to not being spoiled and that makes them easier to deal with than children. Which pet is the most fun? I am a reptile lover, so I would have to say reptiles. They don't smell, they are easy to care for and you don't have to go out and buy them every toy on the market. They are also very intelligent and active, so if you need a break from the stresses of life and just want to relax, reptiles will do it for you. A reptile is also a great way to learn about the animal kingdom and is also safe for children to handle. Being able to keep a reptile as a pet is also challenging from time to time. After all, every pet is a big responsibility and having those responsibilities are also giving someone's a bigger reason to live. Your pet without you might be gone.

If for me the reptile is the one which might work, for others is that something totally different. However, mainstream dogs and cats will be the best choice for the majority. And if you look from the aspect of therapeutic treatment, that is the most reasonable choice. Dogs are big cuddlers and need a lot of attention, on the other hand, cats need a lot of attention as well and know how to get their food. Prepare for some pushing and begging but in a cute way.

Carefull it comes with a responsibility and extra costs

No matter how great pets are in combating anxiety and depression there is one catch. Pets means also extra cots. Food, vets and equipment can bring high expenses and if your mental health is on the verge because of lack of money, a pet could only deepen it. Pets mean responsibility and everyone should take care when doing this step. However, there are some tricks to keep those costs as low as possible. There are other ways to get pets food. In my case, I was catching some insects and even breeding some crickets for my lizards. I guess dogs' and cats' food can be expensive as well, and you can easily get some cheap or even free cuts at your local butcher.

I encourage you to get a pet, especially if you have some anxiety or depression. Treating this at a very early start can prevent bigger complications. Please let me know if you have any experiences with this topic and if you have a pet I would love to hear how they help you to achieve a better mood in your everyday.

I agree. I love my dogs 100%, and they love me back 200%. I believe that their existence in my life is a blessing. Whenever I get too overwhelmed with anxiety and stress, they're always there, willing to stay by my side. After a few couple of minutes of cuddle and play time with my fur buddies, I can say that I'm somehow recharged and refreshed to carry-on with what I have to do. Thanks for this post.
