Happiness Is Free

Sometimes we do think happiness is something we have to buy or chase, no, but truth be told, happiness is free. It’s not in the big things we dream about; it’s in the small everyday moments that most times we don’t even notice.

There was a time in my life when I used to think I’ll only be happy when I have plenty money, a car, or a better job. I kept pushing happiness ahead, like something I must earn first. But the more I chased, the more I realized that peace and joy don’t come from things, some they come from inside.

Happiness is waking up in the morning and feeling thankful that you’re alive and healthy. It’s sharing food with a friend, laughing over something silly, or spending quiet time with family. It’s watching children play and remembering that life doesn’t always have to be serious.

In Nigeria, and even in other places like Korea or Europe, many people are struggling, trying to make ends meet. Everybody wants more and more money, more fame, more everything. But if you look well, you’ll see that the happiest people are not always the richest or the most educated. They are the ones who find joy in little things, the ones who smile even when life is not perfect.

Sometimes happiness is just sitting outside in the evening breeze, talking with your neighbor, or eating your favorite food after a long day. It’s free, but not everyone sees it that way because we are too busy comparing ourselves with others. Social media has even made it worse people now think happiness means living like someone else. But real happiness is not show off; it’s peace of mind.

So my friend, stop waiting for everything to be perfect before you choose to be happy. Even with the little you have, find reasons to smile. Appreciate the people who care for you, thank God for your life, and don’t let worry steal your joy.

At the end of the day, happiness is not something you buy it’s something you create. And yes, it’s free.
