Hace unos días me contacto un chico que no conocía mediante facebook, porque quería que le hiciera una ilustración para su novia, pues ella cumplía años una semana después del día que hablamos.
Obviamente accedí a realizar este encargo pues siempre me parece súper bonito ser parte de un detalle como este, estuvimos hablando y al final se decidió porque le hiciera 3 ilustraciones de ella, para mi era un reto brutalísimo poder hacer 3 versiones de la misma persona, así que comencé a realizar las ilustraciones.
A few days ago I contacted a guy I didn't know via Facebook, because I wanted me to give him an illustration for his girlfriend, because he was a week after the day we spoke.
Obviously I agreed to make this order because I always find it very nice to be part of a detail like this, we were talking and in the end decided to make 3 illustrations of it, for me it was a brutal challenge to be able to make 3 versions of the same person, so I started to do the illustrations.
Como no quería que fuese solo el retrato y ya, le pregunté a Julio, el chico que me contactó, que cosas le gustaban a su novia que pudiera utilizar como elementos para componer el fondo de una forma interesante.
Me dio 3 cosas principales: rosas, hojas de palma y cactus. Cada una con un significado especial de importancia para ellos dos, así que me pareció muy interesante poder jugar con ellos para darle mas dinamismo a las ilustraciones.
Since he didn't want it to be just the portrait and already, I asked Julio, the guy who contacted me, what his girlfriend liked, things he could use as elements to compose the background in an interesting way.
He gave me 3 main things: roses, palm leaves and cacti. Each with a special meaning of importance to both of us, so I found it very interesting to be able to play with them to give more dynamism to the illustrations.
Este fue el ultimo que hice, y mi favorito. Ya que la composición es bastante interesante y dinámica, el estilo que le dan los cactus me gustó bastante, no es el mas parecido a la chica pero aun así siento que pude jugar mas con mi creatividad al hacerlo.
Los cactus los escogió Julio, esto porque ellos tienen un pequeño hijo cactus al que han cuidado desde que comenzó su relación, así que quiso que los colocara en la ilustración ya que es un símbolo importante para ellos.
This was the last one I did, and my favorite. Since the composition is quite interesting and dynamic, the style of the cacti I liked quite a lot, it is not the closest to the girl, but I still like it as I was able to play more with my creativity when doing so.
Cactuses were chosen by Julio, this because they have a little son of cacti who have been careful since their relationship began, so I wanted you to place them in the illustration as it is an important symbol for them.

Este es el segundo que hice, y el mas parecido a la chica, pueden ver en la imagen de referencia que no copié exactamente su rostro pero si tomé rasgos importantes de ella para darle el parecido.
Las hojas de palma me dijo Julio que las colocara ya que forman parte de una anécdota muy graciosa de ellos dos, ya que un día sin sentido estaban juntos en su casa y decidieron ponerse a jugar a pegarse con unas hojas de palma del patio jajajajaj. La gente está loca pero me parece muy brutal que la ilustración pueda llevar parte de esos momentos.
This is the second one I did, and the one most similar to the girl, you can see in the reference image that I have not copied exactly her face, but if I took important features of it to give her the resemblance.
The palm leaves told me Julio to place them as they are part of a very funny anecdote of the two of them, since one day they were together at home, they decided to start playing with some palm leaves of the yard, and they started sticking with them hahahahaha. People are crazy, but I find it very brutal that illustration can be part of some of those moments.

Esta fue la primera que hice, siento que pude haberla trabajado mucho mejor, pero aun así le gustó bastante a Julio y su novia.
Las rosas como símbolo de amor forman parte de esta ilustración, además parte del regalo que le daría Julio eran unas rosas, así que el haberlas ilustrado complementaba el regalo real.
This was the first one I did, I feel like I could have worked much better, but still he quite liked Julio and his girlfriend.
Roses as a symbol of love are part of this illustration, besides Julio would give some roses to his girlfriend, so the illustration complemented the royal gift.
- Pueden ver el antes y después ya que arreglé un poco su boca y nariz, me habían quedado mas grandes de lo normal.
You can see the before and after as I fixed a little mouth and nose, I had looked bigger than normal.
