Every August 8 since 2006 the world day of the female orgasm has been celebrated. Something quite curious and without a doubt very interesting.

Cada 8 de agosto desde el año 2006 se celebra el día mundial del orgasmo femenino. Algo bastante curioso y sin duda muy interesante.

What is its origin? / ¿Cuál es su origen?

It all began in the Esperantina municipality, in the state of Pauí, in Brazil, when a councilman from the region proposed to the city council to establish the International Day of Female Orgasm, alarmed by the results of a poll that indicated that 28% of the female population in this state did not reach orgasm regularly.

Todo empezó en el municipio Esperantina, en el estado de Pauí, en Brasil, cuando un concejal de la región propuso al ayuntamiento instaurar el Día Internacional del Orgasmo Femenino, alarmado por los resultados de un sondeo que indicaron que un 28% de la población femenina en ese estado no alcanzaban el orgasmo con regularidad.

The commemoration of an international day undoubtedly arouses curiosity in people. And talking about orgasms is essential, especially when sex education focuses on merely reproductive functions, leaving aside the explanation about pleasure and enjoyment, which is what most people have sex for.

La conmemoración de un día internacional despierta, sin duda, la curiosidad en las personas. Y hablar de orgasmos es imprescindible, especialmente cuando la educación sexual se centra en las funciones meramente reproductivas, dejando a un lado la explicación sobre el placer y el disfrute, que es para lo que la mayoría de personas practican sexo.

The clitoris is the only organ whose sole function is solely to cause pleasure to its owner, contrary to the penis, which also has reproductive functions.

Es el clítoris el único órgano cuya unica función es únicamente causarle placer a su dueña, contrario al pene, que tiene funciones además reproductivas.

So if you are a woman and you are thinking about your own enjoyment, or if your partner is a woman, you better start concentrating on the clitoris.

Así que si eres mujer y estas pensando en el disfrute propio, o si tu pareja es una mujer, será mejor que te empieces a concentrar en el clítoris.
