Our semester is finally about to end so I decided to get back to digital drawing. 😆 Before thinking about what to draw, I wondered if I am now brave enough to draw a full-body portrait.
Am I? The answer is nope. 😩
The thing is, I'm reallyyy bad at drawing anatomy (which is also my fault because I tend to avoid practicing full-body drawings hehe), so in the end, I decided to draw and focus on the face!
For this art, I particularly want to convey more obvious emotions through the eyes👀. It just so happened that I was quite annoyed by our internet connectivity when I was drawing this. The annoyance turned into a wave of slight anger when I was not able to attend classes due to the internet connectivity problem (The struggle of online classes). Because of that, I ended up mirroring 'anger' through the eyes of the character. I thought that applying a new kind of emotion was quite interesting since usually when I draw, my characters are always smiling, full of positivity. If not smiling, then simply a poker face. Emotions are important when creating art, so it is best that I am able to also explore a wide range of emotions by focusing on the face. This is also my excuse as to why I'm once again not going to practice a full-body art hehe 😁.
First, this is the rough sketch. I love the sketching process as always. I feel like it's the best part when drawing when all you have to do is let your imagination flow and draw your messy lines until it forms the figure that you've imagined. For this character, my original plan was to give her wavy hair which eventually changed during the coloring process.
Adding the base colors. It took a while for me to vividly plan out how she would look with color. I originally went with red eyes with blonde hair and pale skin, but ended up giving her bright blue eyes to give a more mysterious and cool vibe paired with her dark hair.
I love adding details and shading. This was also the part where I did the proper line art at the same time. I think beautifying the art is the best part. It gives more life to the art, and there! She looks even more beautiful.
Finished work! That streak of light was a random last idea I had in mind. I wanted to give her "glowing eyes." At first, I gave her literally two glowing eyes and her background was a bit darker. I ended up settling for the streaks of light, which appeared to give me more sense of satisfaction in balance with the emotions that I am trying to convey in my drawing.
To draw my digital artworks I use PaintTool SAI and One by Wacom drawing tablet.

True, emotions are integral part of making art. Good that you can still make one even if you are mad because I cannot.
I honestly agree with that though. Usually, I am unable to draw when I feel pretty mad or annoyed, but that time, given the fact that I couldn't do anything else (school works) without the internet, I ended up drawing 🤣
Talented young woman! By the way, you can post your videos here also thru 3speak. I heard that you are also making animated videos. (ingon ate lalee) hahaha.
Great job, @zei.lly!
Keep it up!
Hahahaha thank you ate! Will do ❤️ I'll be checking out 3speak

Truly! 🤣 another reason why I avoid drawing full-body is also because of the clothes hahaha. And, thank you so much! 😄💜
