Art Special: Meet the Artist (Takyarts)

in Sketchbook3 years ago

People obviously follow artists because of their art, knowing the artist only comes second. But sometimes, it's also nice to know something about the person behind the art, right? A couple of months ago, we had an activity on ArtPark called #meettheartist. This is not new and has been participated by a lot of artists already in the past.

I also realized that I didn't have a proper introduction post here on Hive as Takyarts and so I guess this "Meet the Artist" activity can now also serve as my introduction post here. I've written a lot on the drawing, so..enjoy!

Meet the Artist: Takyarts

With the many things I've mentioned above, I could say you already know about 60% of me. The remaining 40% is something I can't and still refuse to share. Lol. Sorry. I am not comfortable sharing the other stuff about myself, honestly, because I dislike getting judge. There's really something heartbreaking when you see their eyes. (Based from experience) But I'm glad and relieved the ArtPark community seemed chill with it especially on my weird side.

Also, I feel a little embarrassed for writing a lot but that's how I am sometimes. I overshare. I also felt like I need to fill all the spaces on the drawing. Heh. Overshare now, regret later.

And speaking of the girl on the photo, please don't assume I look exactly like her. Seriously, I'm not sure if I look the same as her, although the way she sat is exactly the sitting position I prefer and most comfortable with because my feet is short, it hurts the back of my leg when I sit on the chair with my feet touching the ground.

So now that you know more about me, I hope the way you see me doesn't change. Haha! Well, I believe artists and creatives have at least some weird facts about them. Some just don't prefer sharing them.

Yeah, so this is me. Nice to meet you all people! :)

INTJ-T huh? Oooh, that's a rarity. I've had the pleasure to meet some INTJ's in real life and always enjoyed their company. I was looking over your "meet the artist" illustration you made and saw you disliked "why are you so quiet?" and can instantly relate to such experiences as an Introvert (INFP-T) though I can be social when I need to be.

Good post Takyarts, enjoy these kinds of threads.

PS: Out of curiosity, how much would it be to commission something similar you did for the "meet the artist" illustration? I'm looking for something similar, might as well ask here first!

Thank you! Few years ago, I was an ISFJ and then took the test again this year and got INTJ. It's cool you've met INTJs and had a wonderful company with them. I kind of envy that because knowing your own personality type isn't very popular here. I wish I know the personality types of people around me too.

Ah, I dislike when I get repeatedly asked why am I so quiet. They can point it out just once, that's fine. But when they tell you that every time they see you, it gets really disappointing especially when you're finally trying to participate to the conversation. Just like you, I can be social and quite talkative, but only on topics I'm interested in. hehe.

I'm not exactly sure of the price for this style. >.< Probably $15 (whole body) for a starting price? I've done a few chibi commissions similar to my icon few years ago but not yet for this one. Do you think the price is reasonable or too much?

Hello,

I believe the whole MBTI personality type test isn't very well known all over the world, but even more so where you are from (used to have a girlfriend there so I can vouch). Is it really true it's tough to be an introvert in the Philippines? It seems like it's not a very welcome place for them unlike Netherlands.

Regarding the commission: I think that first illustration you did was great, so something similar is a good start. My artwork isn't freehand so that's why I reached out to you as that's your skill, I also want to create my own "meet the artist" like post too. I will have to give you a list of words too seeing how they are in that illustration too. I got crypto if you accept it?

It is. Majority of Filipinos are outgoing, loud and very sociable so if you're the quiet one, they will assume something's wrong and will have the urge to change you. 😅 That's good to know. There's an introverts' group on facebook and someone mentioned Germany and Japan are good places for introverts too.

Oh..what artworks do you do? Sure! Hive/HBD will do. :D

I can vouch for Japan and also Taiwan since I’ve visited both. I recently disconnected myself from most mainstream social media accounts like FB and IG but I was part of a few groups like the ones you mentioned. My work is mostly technical drawings including maps and designs.

Great to know Taiwan is introvert-friendly. There were times I attempted to deactivate but then I remember it's the only way I could communicate with my sister and a few friends.
I saw them, it's awesome! 👏

wow, greatt. it's nice meeting you @takyarts !

thank you. nice meeting you too :)
