Sculpting the founder of ISKCON on clay.

in Sketchbook4 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone!!

Today I am back with my new work that is life study on clay. This is the work that I did during the lockdown period in Nepal. It took me around 12 hours to complete this work. Not for a surprise, it is only 18 inch tall.

I am not sure how much of you know him, here let me introduce him.
Abhay Charanaravinda Bhaktivedanta Swami (September 1896 – 14 November 1977) or Srila Prabhupada, was an Indian spiritual teacher and the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), commonly known as the "Hare Krishna Movement". He is viewed as a representative and messenger of Krishna Chaitanya.

Srila Prabhupada, at various times have been called as a scholar, a philosopher, a prolific author, a spiritual teacher, a social critic, , a religious leader, a cultural ambassadorand a holy man. In truth, he was all these things and more.

According to Srila Prabhupada, Krishna Consciousness is not an philosophy or a religion; it is a way of life. He has presented the philosophy of Krishna Consciousness very extensively in his books. His books have given a lot of teachings to a lot of people to walk on the right path. I can see ISKCON has now spread in many countries and has a lot of devotees following the path of Srila Prabhupada. I am very much interested in his teachings and wanted to show my gratitude by making this sculpture. Hope you all enjoy.
Harey Krishna.
