The woman with red hair (oil on canvas)

in Sketchbook6 months ago

Hello hivers,an happy Friday to you all!
The weekend is just around the corner, here the Sun is shining on the sky and the birds are singing and flying around the branches of the trees, so I spent a pause from my work walking along the side of the river close to my home to clean my mind and to move my legs. When I came back at home I felt myself full of energy, I gave the last touches to my large canvas and now it's ready to dry (it need around 2 weeks to dry enough), so I can finally show you the final result:

As you can see, the subject is one of my usual woman in profile. On her red hair I added a small house and some trees. I also added some plants around hair and, to be honest, I like the final result.
It's a mixed media painting (oil and acrylic colors) on canvas size around 60 cm x 80 cm (23.6" x 31.5") and, like I use to do for you, I took some pics while I was painted her along the time (I needed around 1 month to paint it) so you can see the process too:

When it will be dry enough, I'll add this new large artwork to my Artfinder shop (link at the bottom), hoping it will find a new home!

I hope you like it!
See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia

I didn't realise paintings can take so long to dry. You have to be patient, but it turned out great.

The oil colors need a lot of time to dry on a canvas, not just at the end, but also layer by layer. It's a nice thing when you have to fix some errors, but you have to be very very patient. Because of this, I prefer to use them on paper (they dry faster on paper). :D

Interesting. There is more to painting than we may think.

It’s looking like this is one of the best works you’ve done
Looks so lovely
