CHARCOAL DRAWING - Lava Black Dragon

in Sketchbook4 years ago

Hello Folks!

I continue in the creation of dragons to create a collection,
this time I drew a much more traditional Dragon, without applying so much realism and letting myself be carried away by the charcoal and the brush.

They are more simplified strokes that generate a nice effect, great for the style of this dragon, lets see the process

Process:

  • I made a simple sketch of the border, I started by making a base layer with graphite but I didn't like it very much and I preferred to change quickly to charcoal, I didn't want it to have so many marked details.
Normally when I work with graphite, I like to detail a lot, and this time I wanted to make the charcoal style notice much more.

  • With the charcoal I painted each dark area and I used the brush to degrade, also with the moldable rubber I created lights to highlight the texture of the skin.

  • I used the same style of the head, I made the body, in the center of his chest I did it with less rough skin and with a lot of light, trying to give an effect that there is fire inside.

  • I wanted to make a kind of armor that covers the parts of the dragon, with its hard skin.

  • To create the background, I used a thick round brush to create a dark background, that highlights the fire inside and the dragon's mouth.

And this is the final art

I like to work in this style, although I work more with details, sometimes this type of work turns out to be great.

I have currently added this and other jobs to my NFTSowroom profile, If you would like to acquire any of these tokenized pieces, you can check my gallery and also support traditional art.
