Travel Around My Hometown - Hue, Vietnam With My Paintings

in Sketchbook3 years ago

Love is nourished from young age. At least it is true to me. Indeed, I grew up in love of my family and I have a great love to them. When I have known more, I have a love to my neighborhood, and then it becomes a love to the land where I have grown and lived.
Hue City always has a space in my heart and I can see its beauty in every corner of it. As a result, when I know how to paint, my homeland is one of topic I often choose to paint. In the series I would like to show you, some paintings appeared in my previous posts. However, with a new angles on this subject, you can understand my feeling and love to my motherland via my brushes.

North Hai Van Railway Bridge

The arch bridge is on the North of Hai Van - cloudy pass. It is right in the border of Hue and Da Nang city. As you may know, train trip from Hue to Da Nang crossing Hai Van pass is the most beautiful trip in Vietnam. You can enjoy the waves of sea hitting rocky cliff and green of trees in this trip. The stream and beach here can be reached by going through train tunnel and trekking from mountain. Therefore, many young travelers choose this as a destination for camping and picnic.

Lonely Tree in movie Mat Biec (Dreamy Eyes)
IMG-1863.jpg
Mat Biec (Dreamy Eyes) is a Vietnamese movie based on the same name novel by Nguyen Nhat Anh. Mat Biec is one of the best novel for teenagers in 90s which tells a sad love story of Ngan and Ha Lan. Surely, I was a big fan of this novel. When the movie was film in Hue, the movie set of the lonely tree became a place for fans of the movie. Besides, the view and countryside of Hue is so great to enjoy and be nostalgic about young ages. This tree is located in Ha Cang hamlet, Quang Phu commune, Quang Dien District. It is about 30 minutes from Hue Center.

Thuan An Beach

Thuan An beach is about 15 kilometers from Hue center. I often cycle in the morning to enjoy the salty fresh air, buy some oysters on the way and deep myself in the glory of sunrise. The breakwater is a good place for rod fishing. Seafood and water here will treat you well for a summer excursion.

Chuon Lagoon

Chuon Lagoon is a part of Tam Giang Lagoon and it is pretty close to the city. When you come here, you can take a boat trip around the lagoon to see local life of fishermen. You can stop on a small island in middle of the lagoon and have some seafood from here. The most famous food & drinks are Kinh fish pancake and Chuon village rice wine. Take them both and you can be high. :D

Phu Van Lau - Literature pavilion
IMG_20201028_154650.jpg
Phu Van Lau is located in front of Hue Citadel. It was the place where Nguyen Emperors with their mandarins chanted and shares poetry. I captured the moment of it in heavy rain, a typical weather of Hue in rainy season. In Hue, we have only two season, the rainy season and the dry season. For me, Hue has one season - season of love.
