#Inktober2024 - Day 16 - Grungy

Hi everyone! 😊

This is my participation for the Inktober's prompt "Grungy".

Did you know? In reality, it's not dirty for pigs to roll around in the mud; by doing so, they protect themselves from parasites. They also do it to regulate their temperature.
Some people also attribute virtuous practices to mud baths. Personally, I don't know about you, but I'm not tempted 😁

Process

I noticed that I often chose 3 protagonists for my illustrations; I think it gives a kind of dynamism, the trio is a familiar image, an archetype. It's not for nothing that they are the 'three' little pigs.

I used my pen brush to do the lines but I'm still not familiar enough with the tool - even though it's great, I'm finding it hard to angle my brush in the right way so that it gives the thickness I want. In fact, I'm not even sure what thickness I want, I don't take enough time to think about ‘ok, this part of the body is very voluminous so the line should be thicker’ or that sort of thing, it's very technical.

Here I kept the colorization really sober, just did the mud patches to stick to the theme, but from now on I'm thinking of not using my shading markers unless I really need to, because as I've said in previous posts, I feel they ruin the design more than improve it. I regret using them every time.
So for the next few drawings, I'll be concentrating on my pen brush, trying to master it and create beautiful volumes.
