Hi everyone! 😊
I come back today with some studies from a cartoon I love, the Animaniacs, an animated series from the 90s by S. Spielberg.
It really is a masterclass in character design, the characters are so cool and dynamic !
So it was the perfect reference for me to do some character design studies :)
At first my attempts were a bit clumsy, the faces looked especially inaccurate, so I started to study the faces more precisely.
I understood that it consisted of a sphere for the head (Yakko's is more egg-shaped than round) and then the snout, which is similar to Mickey's and other cartoon's in terms of structure.
The body is also similar to Mickey's, it is a bean structure with long and tiny arms and legs, with big gloves. They are just more complex in their clothing, so they require more study time.
So I will continue to study the Animaniacs character design, as I feel it is a really good reference to learn more dynamic character designs. They have great expressions (maybe quite similar as they always looked happy and surexisted 😂) and finally they have very good animation poses.
And you, have you ever seen Animaniacs on TV? Did you like it? :)
Hope you liked it, see you soon for more.
Interesting study, you do it very well, I personally learned a lot with this cartoon style, understanding the way in which such characters come to life through animated works is a beautiful and Complex. Greetings
Thank you. Yes, we can learn a lot from them. =)
