These days, civilization has taken place in most of the African countries and people rarely get those marks on their children faces.
Funny enough, some people in this part of our African country has refused to be civilized, I saw a child today with this tribal mark and the Mark just disfigured her face. It's their choice anyways.

Yeah, few people have chose not to depart from it. Perhaps they want to keep their tradition alive. Irrespective of that, one shouldn't disfigure one's face.
