Hello cool people! How are you? Today I came to show you one of the last portraits I made, it was a super cute color puppy! I drew many details to make it look more realistic, drew very tiny hairs and made some reflections in his eyes. I also made the background a little out of focus, if you notice it? I learned this technique recently so it still needs to be improved, but I think it looks super cool! It took me about 40 hours to do it and without sleeping maybe 2 nights because I had to deliver it in a very short time. And since we mentioned the subject I would like to talk about; how important is the work of an artist and the dedication involved in making a realistic portrait that is usually very little valued and very difficult to do.. It is a somewhat complicated subject since the plastic artist has always been reflected in a person with no future or who will not go very far, which is very sad. There are people (like me) who would love to live off art! But sometimes it's simply not enough, because people want to pay a lower value than they should.. To us mortals who pretend to live off art, will it be possible? Or do we need important contacts to help us get where we really want to be as artists? Why do we see works that are valued at millions of dollars, by people who were highly recognized and I am here selling my portraits for only a couple of dollars? If it probably takes much longer to make it than maybe many other pieces of art? And the other question is; do I have to work so hard on a piece to be able to call it art?
Friends, the answer is no, we don't have to work so hard on a piece to be able to call it "art", otherwise, there were no works of just a stain of paint valued around $50,000. And perhaps the issue of contacts can be an important factor, but not only in art, it happens in any area you want to dedicate yourself to. However, there are artists who have managed to be successful for their different techniques, patterns, colors.. The important thing is always to make a difference, either with contacts or without. Let people get impressed and cause you some emotion! May your art have meaning and transmit feeling!
Friends, my opinion is that if you can live on art! You just have to give it the value it deserves, don't give away their work, don't lower their prices!! For God's sake do not do it! I know that sometimes we have no choice but to lower it to the price because "worse is nothing" but if you really want people to value you as an artist, let them pay for what it really costs! There will be someone who will want it, believe me there is always someone who is willing to pay anything! Just for having a piece of yours!! Whether it's realism, abstract or botanical art. Whatever you do, someone will want it! Believe me, just trust you, just start believing in you! So you can see your dreams come true. I tell you, that at first I thought no one would want my portraits, and now there is no week that I don't work on what I like the most!

Hola gente cool! Qué tal están ? Hoy vine a mostrarles uno de los últimos retratos que hice, fue un cachorro súper lindo a color! Dibujé muchos detalles para que se viera más realista, dibujé pelitos muy diminutos e hice algunos reflejos en sus ojos. También hice el fondo un poco desenfocado, si lo notan? Esta técnica la aprendí hace poco así que aún falta mejorarla, pero me parece que se ve súper cool! Tardé aproximadamente unas 40 horas en realizarlo y sin dormir quizá 2 noches porque tuve que entregarlo en muy poco tiempo.. Y ya que mencionamos el tema quisiera hablar sobre; cuán importante es el trabajo de un artista y la dedicación que conlleva realizar un retrato realista que por lo general es muy poco valorado y muy difícil de hacer.. Es un tema un poco complicado ya que, el artista plástico siempre se ha visto reflejado en una persona sin futuro o que no llegará muy lejos, lo cual es muy triste. Hay personas (como yo) que nos encantaría vivir del arte! Pero simplemente aveces no basta, porque la gente pretende pagar un valor menor al que debería.. A nosotros los mortales que pretendemos vivir del arte, será que se podrá? O necesitamos contactos importantes que nos ayuden a llegar a donde realmente queremos estar como artistas? Por qué vemos obras que están valoradas en millones de dólares, por personas que fueron muy reconocidas y yo estoy aquí vendiendo mis retratos por solo un par de dólares? Si probablemente tarde mucho más tiempo en realizarlo que quizá muchas otras piezas de arte? Y la otra pregunta es; tengo que esforzarme tanto en una pieza para poder llamarlo arte?
Amigos la respuesta es no, no tenemos que esforzarnos tanto en una pieza para poder llamarlo “arte”, si no, no hubieran obras de solo una mancha de pintura valorada en al rededor de 50.000$. Y quizá el tema de los contactos puede ser un factor importante, pero no solo en el arte, pasa en cualquier ámbito al que te quieras dedicar. Sin embargo hay artistas que han logrado ser exitosos por sus diferentes técnicas, patrones, colores.. Lo importante siempre es marcar la diferencia, ya sea con contactos o sin. Que la gente se impresione y le cause alguna emoción! Que tú arte tenga significado y transmita sentimiento!
Amigos, mi opinion es que si se puede vivir del arte! Solo debes darle el valor que merece, no regalen su trabajo, no bajen sus precios!! Por el amor de Dios no lo hagan! Yo sé que aveces no nos queda de otra que bajarle al precio porque "peor es nada" pero si realmente quieres que la gente te valore como artista, déjalos que paguen por lo que realmente cuesta! Habrá alguien que lo querrá, créeme siempre hay alguien que está dispuesto a pagar lo que sea! Solo por tener una pieza tuya!! Ya sea realismo, arte abstracto o botánico.. lo que sea que hagas, alguien lo querrá! Créeme, solo confía en ti, solo empieza a creer en ti! Para que puedas ver tus sueños realizarse.. Te lo digo yo, que al principio pensé que nadie iba a querer mis retratos, y ahora no hay semana que no trabaje en lo que más gusta!

Hola, @nailenynieto, espero que estés muy bien. Esas líneas me dejaron analizando durante unos minutos, y lo que yo creo es que esos artistas que hacen (o han hecho) ese tipo de pinturas llenas de manchas y figuras abstractas, son personas que han pasado su vida estudiando y haciendo arte (tomemos como ejemplo a Picasso, Joan Miró, Kandinsy,Jackson Pollock, entre muchos otros), por ende su obra no solo está valorada por lo que representa o la apariencia que tienen, sino por el camino que estos artistas han recorrido.
Yo considero que para llamar una pieza "arte", debe tener buena técnica y debe contener un sentimiento puro. Hay muchas obras de arte con buena técnica, pero no logran crear conexión con el espectador; así como hay obras de arte con mensajes sublimes, pero hay técnica que depurar en ella. Creo que al final estos dos factores son subjetivos según la persona que aprecie la obra, pero aún así son cosas que mucha gente considera a la hora de evaluar una pieza de arte.
El tiempo que invertimos para estudiar y poner en práctica nuestros conocimientos artísticos suma, la originalidad de nuestra obra suma, el sentimiento que plasmamos suma, todo al final suma y es lo que le dará valor a nuestro trabajo a la hora de cobrar una comisión o vender una obra ya hecha.

Tienes mucha razón, una obra tiene que transmitir y claro es subjetivo porque para todas las personas no representará lo mismo, pero te pongo el ejemplo de Jeff Koons, no sé si lo conocías, es un artista plástico que ha logrado valorar sus esculturas en muchos miles de dólares.. pero si le prestas atención a algunas de ellas, no tienen mucho sentido. Realmente es su recorrido o se ha codeado con las personas adecuadas para poder posicionarse?
Es un tema debatible.
