Today I’m sharing with you this drawing I created of a sad bull drawn entirely using a pencil without relying on ink this time. I chose to work only with pencil because of the softness and freedom it offers in expression helping to convey emotions in a calmer and more sincere way.
In this piece I focused on the sad facial expressions and the downcast, broken look in the eyes to portray a state of anger mixed with sadness. I used gradual shading to highlight the size of the body and the bull’s strength without overloading the drawing with excessive details.
The light lines combined with relatively dense shadows reflect the character’s psychological state and give the artwork a subtle dramatic tone. This drawing represents an artistic experience in which I enjoyed returning to the basics of pencil drawing relying on emotion and feeling rather than sharp rigid lines.
Hoy comparto con ustedes este dibujo que realicé de un toro triste, dibujado completamente con lápiz sin recurrir al bolígrafo esta vez. Preferí trabajar únicamente con el lápiz por la suavidad y la libertad que ofrece en la expresión lo que ayuda a transmitir las emociones de una manera más calmada y sincera.
En esta obra me centré en las expresiones faciales tristes y en la mirada baja y quebrada de los ojos para mostrar un estado de ira mezclada con tristeza. Utilicé un sombreado gradual para resaltar el tamaño del cuerpo y la fuerza del toro sin exagerar en los detalles.
Las líneas suaves combinadas con sombras relativamente densas reflejan el estado psicológico del personaje y otorgan al dibujo un tono dramático y sutil. Este dibujo representa una experiencia artística en la que disfruté volver a los fundamentos del dibujo a lápiz confiando en la expresión y el sentimiento más que en líneas duras y definidas.
