"THE HERMIT IX- Tarot Card, Major Arcana”

I created this cut paper art and digitally colored it. This is a tarot card, major arcana called "The Hermit IX ." I wanted to make a cut-paper art tarot cards series for a long time. Finally, I created the first one. I selected the Hermit as my first cut paper art of tarot cards because I think it's an interesting card.

Usually, the Hermit is an old man but I used a lady who wears a Japanese traditional dress called "kimono" in my artwork. I use a polka dot kimono for my artwork because it's my motif. She is wearing kimono and a coat called "haori" in Japanese. She is holding a lantern called "chouchin" in Japanese. The original Hermit card has a western-looking lantern and a six-pointed star is shining inside of it. My lantern-chouchin has a star mark with a star inside as well. The star is guiding her way.

The willow tree is one of my favorite trees because it's kind of a symbol of Japanese old artwork. I created a colorful willow tree in this artwork. First of all, I created the first version, and then I added the different color versions below. I like the pink and bluish moon as well. I hope I can make other tarot cards little by little.

"隠者 九・タロットカード、大アルカナ”

切り絵を作成し、デジタルで色を入れました。これはタロットカード、大アルカナの“９番隠者のカード”です。以前からタロットカードの切り絵を作成したいと思っていて、やっと一枚目を作りました。一番最初の切り絵タロットカードは、とても興味深いカードである隠者のカードにしました。

普通隠者のカードといえば老人の絵柄ですが、わたしの隠者のカードは着物を着た女性です。いつも着物柄のモチーフにしている水玉模様の着物を着せました。着物の上に羽織を羽織っています。通常の隠者は六角形の星が入ったランタンを持っていますが、この絵の女性は星のマークのついた和風の提灯を持っています。この提灯の中にも星が入っていて、彼女の行き先を照らしています。

昔から日本画でよく用いられる柳の木は和のイメージがあるので、好きな木のひとつです。柳の木はカラフルにしました。他にも違うカラーバリエーションを作りました。ピンクとブルームーンのバージョンもすきです。少しずつ別のタロットカードも作っていきたいと考えています。

9.THE HERMIT.--Prudence, circumspection; also and especially treason, dissimulation, roguery, corruption. Reversed: Concealment, disguise, policy fear, unreasoned caution.

隠者カードの意味：

・正位置の意味
経験則、高尚な助言、秘匿、精神、慎重、優等感、思慮深い、思いやり、単独行動、神出鬼没、変幻自在、難解。
・逆位置の意味
閉鎖性、陰湿、消極的、無計画、誤解、悲観的、邪推、劣等感、疎通。
