Hello all art lovers!!! And those made with pencil. ^_^
I'm still trying to reactivate myself with drawing, but lately I'm still discouraged and distracted, but that's something I have to change at all costs this week, I can't continue allowing myself this, my classes at work have started, but at the moment I only have one new student, who unfortunately was not interested in drawing, and the last class was a disaster, because she ran away a couple of times to play, and since it was difficult for me to focus her attention on drawing a female face, I hope that Your attention will improve when the other students arrive this week.
This week I am going to practice drawing more, because due to everything that happened with the death of my hard drive, I neglected it a lot and that cannot be forgiven, for now I am going to show you a drawing of an elf, which I made during my absence from the internet .
Starting to draw an elf
As I mentioned, the drawing is about an elf from the "The Lord of the Rings" franchise based on the sketches of the wonderful artist "Stjepan Sejic", take a look at his gallery where I got the reference for this drawing.
The drawing is a portrait of the bust of an elf, and like all drawings I started with the sketch.
I drew the initial sketch very clearly, with the least amount of shapes, but seeking to be very balanced in the proportions, then I partially defined the face, but where I focused the most on detailing was the clothing and the details of the shoulder armor , when you complete the sketch, start correcting everything and retouching all the general details, to finally do the entire linear with the 3H pencil.
With the 3H pencil I made several skin tones. I started on the right side of the face, because it would not be as illuminated as the left. I also applied the HB pencil to give more volume and shadows. With the 2B pencil I defined and deepened the eyes and the shadows around them, with the hair I had to apply the same tones that I applied on the skin because it has light hair like blonde hair.
Using soft but more intense tones I finished the lips and applied more shadows on the face in the jaw, neck and eyelid area, and with the HB and 2B pencils I began to apply values and shadows to the scale armor, starting with the shoulder right.
To complete the right shoulder, I used the 2B and 3B pencils for all the leather details, but in the highlighted areas I used the HB pencil, I started with one of the straps that crosses his chest, before completing it I decided to finish the chest and neck, As this area is more illuminated, use the HB and 2B pencils when completing that area, continue with the strap, to start with the left shoulder.
I completed the second strap in the same way as the first, with the 3H, HB pencils and with a few touches of the 2B I began to fill the left shoulder pad with gradients to give it that worn metal appearance.
When I completed the main part of the shoulder pad, I moved on to finishing the chest, specifically the visible part between the straps, then continued with the remaining plates of the shoulder pad, and then used the 3B to define the shadows and contours.
This drawing was already ready, but it felt like it lacked a little more depth, so I proceeded to add more contrast using 3B and 6B in its dark shadows, eyes and bust edge contours, and now I felt that this drawing was complete.
There are already 15 drawings on the wall of 80
I still have a long way to go to cover this wall of fanart drawings, I only have 65 more drawings to do, to achieve the first batch of more drawings. ^_^
