The Subject That I Love to Draw

"Trust the Process"

I always tell that to myself whenever I draw. Just don't think too much about the result that you aimed for, but trust the process of creating it and trust yourself that you can create it.

Hello everyone! Allow me to share with you my eye drawing. I'm a newbie here. Hope we can interact with each other.

When drawing/sketching for me is just a pastime when vacant time during my senior high school days, the eye is always the subject that I sketch. That time, my drawing skill sucks since I don't see it as a potential skill. And the eye is always the subject when I practice drawing.

Below is the photo is my latest drawing of an eye. I'm not that good at drawing since I am just starting.

Now, let me share with you how did I do it.

These are my materials. Graded pencils, white gel pen, erasers, and brush, and of course the paper.

So, here are the steps:

**Specify the Shapes **

You need to break down the shapes of your subject. For example the eye, you will specify the shapes, like the circle. So, this is the first step that I do. I draw a circle, then draw a line in the middle, this is where my tear duct is. And then as you can see, I also doubled line the curve of the circle from both lower and upper. Where this will be the eyelid and the eyebags.

**Outline the Eye Shape **

This time, since I already specify the shapes, now, I am going to outline the eye. I draw a curve line that flattens at the end.
And then, I draw another circle inside the outline of the eye and this will serve as the pupil. (picture below).

When I am done outlining the eye, I erase it gently and leave the outline. This is just to make the outline clean.

**It's time for Shading **

I shade first the pupil and make sure to highlight some parts of it. You will just determine where your light source is.
In the upper part of the pupil, I make it darker than the other parts and the outline as well.
Here, just be patient, don't give your full force in shading, because little by little you will get the tone that you want.

This time, I started shading the eyelid. I use the brush in shading and then light grade pencil to dark.

For the eyebags, I only shade the outline to create an illusion of depth. And for the eyebrow, I just draw stroke lines and then shade them.

So, this is the final result.
Hope you like it and enjoy it!
