CASA DE PLOMO, A Vernacular Architecture

in Sketchbook4 years ago

Good day everyone! I want to share one of our best projects in architecture.

To be honest, the life of an architecture student is totally busy and tiring. All assignments like model-making, presentation board creation, drawings, sketches, reports, essays, oral presentation, portfolio and even final examinations could kill, anytime, anywhere.

This scale model was called "CASA DE PLOMO" means Lead House. It is Vernacular Architecture with a tropical design we made for our final project in Tropical Architecture Design subject.

The design concept was "Sipa", a Philippine traditional game which uses an item to kick with their soles, feet, palms and elbows to launch it upward. The circle lead in sipa was our design form. That's why our stucture was in a circle form. The house was built in slope area with a water element beneath.

It is a detachable house, where you are able to see the interior details by lifting some parts of it.

Here we are, had a picture taken in front of our building together with our scale model!

Even though we are still new at designing things like this and surely still have much more things need to know, I am still proud of the outcome because we put much effort in this.

Once again a Vernacular Architecture, CASA DE PLOMO!
