Hello Everyone.
Today, I made this wildlife drawing depicting a buffalo in the dark using a white Charcoal pencil on black cardboard paper. As always, this effect is possible due to the reflection property of the black paper and the artistic effect of the white pencil on black cardboard paper. I made this drawing to practice wildlife drawing and detailing using the white charcoal. My wildlife reference photograph was found on the internet with no linked source.
Here are the steps involved;
I began by making an outline sketch of the buffalo with the white charcoal pencil.
Next, I began to shade and add details to its skin starting from the face, to its body and finally to its horns.
To complete the drawing, I used the white charcoal to draw some grasses around the buffalo for a wildlife look.
As always, I adjusted the amount of pressure I exerted on the white charcoal pencil as I went from the face to its back to give the effect of a fade.
Thank you for reading and checking out my drawing. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your day.
Wow awesome drawing. I really liked black background and drawing throwing white pencil, a different as I usually see white background and black pencil.
Thank you so much. I'm beginning to fall in love with it too😀
Amazing art work. You have have awesome talent. Keep it up :) Falling in love
Thank you so much.😃
I'm always mesmerized by ur art.
U are amazing
Thank you so much. I appreciate your support.
Amazing!!! I love the effect that white carbon leaves on black cardboard... I would love to try this technique someday, although I don't think I can achieve something as incredible as this work. ;)
It would be nice to see you try it out too. It's not so easy to achieve awesome results at first when using subjects with alot of details. I would advice you wanna start with some easy drawings with the medium and watch yourself blossom from there. Thank you for checking out and supporting my art. I appreciate it.
Hello @firefly2020, if I understand... it is good to start with something small the detail in my case is the materials and where I live they do not sell art products and due to the pandemic I could not travel to another state to see if I can get them. I will wait for all this madness to pass to see if I can get them and try. ;)
Thank you for showing your art, delighted to see your works. <3 <3 <3
Yea, I understand many art stores are locked at the moment and movements are restricted. I hope everything comes back to normal soon too. Hopefully you'd get some materials and make some cool works then. Thanks for checking out my works. I appreciate it.
Although in my country the quarantine is not strong... there are already many businesses and companies that do not have to do with health or food and are working, the government is not pending, art shops are not open "yet" but they are, like you, I hope this happens soon. ;)
Greeting!!! <3 <3 <3
