El personaje del que hablaré hoy es otro Bruto, no el asesino de César, sino uno más antiguo, un personaje casi legendario: Lucius Junius Brutus. Se dice que provenía de uno de los linajes más antiguos de la nobleza romana.
El busto que retrata al personaje en cuestión fue tomado por Charles Bargue para su "Cours de Dessin", porque se trata de un buen modelo clásico para practicar el dibujo. En el libro de Charles Bargue esta es la lámina número 52. Lo hice también con mis lápices HB, B y N.° 2, trabajé sobre papel de reciclaje. En las fotos pueden ver parte del proceso, las tomé todas con mi celular.
Ahora bien, quién fue este "BRVTVS", pues resulta que se trata de uno que vivió como en el siglo VI a. C. Un fundador de la República Romana, es decir, partició en uno de los cambios políticos y culturales más grandes de la historia, nuestras modernas repúblicas y nuestro Estado de Derecho es herencia de esta tradición romana.

The character I will talk about today is another Brutus, not the assassin of Caesar, but an older, almost legendary character: Lucius Junius Brutus. It is said that he came from one of the oldest lineages of the Roman nobility.
The bust portraying the figure in question was taken by Charles Bargue for his "Cours de Dessin", because it is a good classical model for practising drawing. In Charles Bargue's book this is plate number 52. I did it also with my HB, B and No. 2 pencils, working on recycled paper. In the pictures you can see part of the process, I took them all with my mobile phone.
Now, who was this "BRVTVS", it turns out that he was a man who lived in about the 6th century B.C. A founder of the Roman Republic, i.e. he participated in one of the greatest political and cultural changes in history, our modern republics and our rule of law is an inheritance of this Roman tradition.
