Proceso Creativo // Creative Process

Un viernes estaba allí entre la silla y la hoja. Sabía que tenía que dibujar una cabeza, ¿PERO EN QUE POSICION?

One Friday I was there between the chair and the sheet. I knew I had to draw a head, BUT IN WHAT POSITION?

Y despues de 3 segundos con mis ojos clavados al techo. Opte por mirar mi cartelera, mientras que veía una escena pretenciosa dificil de dibujar, el cielo respondió a mis plegarias.

And after 3 seconds with my eyes fixed on the ceiling. I opted to look at my billboard, while I was seeing a pretentious scene difficult to draw, heaven answered my prayers.

Una cabeza prepotente mirando por encima de su hombre metaforico vista desde arriba. Y me dije:

¿por qué no?

A haughty head looking down on its metaphorical man seen from above. And I said to myself:

Ahora vamos con el paso a paso.

PASO a PASO // STEP-BY-STEP

Paso #1 El Boceto

Para EMPEZAR dibujo un cubo para averiguar hasta donde empieza y termina mi dibujo. Y apartir de allí comienzo a 'esculpir' el rostro. Es mas facil empezar para mí con un cubo por que estamos viendo el rostro desde un punto de vista difícil de plasmar.

Step #1 The sketch

To START I draw a cube to find out where my drawing starts and ends. And from there I begin to 'sculpt' the face. It is easier for me to start with a cube because we are seeing the face from a difficult point of view to capture.

Paso #2 Darle forma

En este segmento, me enfoco en darle forma al rostro a partir del cubo, y dejo en claro donde van a ir las mejillas, la nariz, los ojos, la boca y todo lo demas.

Step #2 Give it shape

In this segment, I focus on giving shape to the face from the cube, and I make it clear where the cheeks, nose, eyes, mouth and everything else will go.

Paso #3 TERMINAR de darle forma.

Así es muchachos, tal como indica el título, termino de pulir todo, dibujo los ojos, le doy forma a la nariz, a los labios y a otras partes.

Step #3 FINISH giving it shape.

That's right guys, as the title indicates, I finish polishing everything, I draw the eyes, I give shape to the nose, to the lips and to other parts.

Paso #4 El Claro-Oscuro

Como ven le dibuje las sombras al rostro y elimine las lineas guía para darle realismo. Y realicé manchas por de detras de la cabeza para resaltar sin utilizar lineas los partes fundamentales del rostro que no tiene sombra.

Step #4 The Chiaroscuro

As you can see, I drew the shadows on the face and eliminated the guide lines to give it realism. And I made spots behind the head to highlight the essential parts of the face that do not have shadow without using lines.

El por que puse la sombras donde de están y como se me ocurrieron esas manchas del fondo proviene de ciertas pinturas que encontre en pinterest. Si quieres ser el mejor en algo aprende de los mejores.

The reason I put the shadows where they are and how I came up with those background spots comes from certain paintings I found on Pinterest. If you want to be the best at something, learn from the best.
