New Character painting and story: Harriet's Tea party

Harriet's tea parties were never boring. She'd spread out her things on the lawn by the little river with a hodgepodge of wicker tables and odd chairs gathered from the house.

She always hoped her guests didn't notice the mis-matched china and cutlery, but one did one's best. Harriet was a teetotaler but her husband did not share her ideals on spirits.

Husbands, who hid whiskey in flower pots, often had accidents with china and tripping over chairs. Harriet smiled bravely as she carried out the odd assortement of cracked tea pots, water goblets, and jam jars. Now, if only her husband would remain at his club and not "surprise" her guests with a visit.

As I've mentioned before My little story lines are not pre-planned but sort of creep up on me as I sketch in my journals. Harriet's tea party started out with one character with a large tea cup and I was wondering, "why such a large one?" even tho I had drawn it myself, haha. That's why I like that these stories sort of organically come to me as I sketch.
