Portrait Painting with Process

Hey everyone, How are you today?
Its been 5 days since i havent post anything :/ I was planning to post 3 day ago actually but some things came up and yesterday i got out with my friends for the first time in so long. It was fun, i enjoyed the day a lot. So, i started with this portait 5 days ago actually but didnt finished it in one day(as always:/) It took 4-5 hours most but i was trying some stuff to improve my rendering style and some other stuff came out with a lot of procrastination. That made me sad actually. For the last 5 days i havent done neerly anything.
Okey thats to much of my life let me show you my work.
I will talk about my process and what i do in the stages of a painting.

These days i solve all the problems from the beginnig with the sketch so i wont deal with it in rendering process. And believe me it made a lot of things much more easier!

After the skecth i always choose a base color

And here based on the reference i quckly applied shadows and some highlights

Some shape and color adjustments here. The mouth and the nose wasnt in the right place, i realised it after the next day and solved it right away. It is very important to have some rest and look at to your work after some time. When you keep painting and looking at the same thing for so long your eyes will start to miss some problems(anatomic,contrast-color). For that to not happen you should rest your eyes for couple minutes and then start to work again. You will see the diffrence most of the time.

And finished. I would deffinitly go for more detailed and defined result with hair and stuff but i thought this is enough more will be waste of time. And im planning to work with more stylized and simple shape in the future so more realistic wont work for me anymore :)
