Hi all...it's been a while since my last post in this community. I have been having an art block for almost a year now. For some reason, I feel that I am less motivated to produce any artwork. But it doesn't mean I have not been drawing or painting for that long. I still draw or paint now and then whenever inspiration strikes. I also draw fan art depending on what inspires me at a particular moment.
This fan art painting is inspired by one of my favorite K-Drama - Fated to Love You. This drama was aired on MBC from July to September 2014. Yeah, I know, it's an old TV show, but it was so good that I rewatched it several times. This drama is an emotional rollercoaster, you laugh, you cry, and you grieve with the characters. But of course, the main reason I like the show is because the main actor, Jang Hyuk is my long-time celeb crush 😍. In one of my posts, Girl Power | Three Reasons I Fell In Love With Cardio Boxing, I talked about him a bit because he inspires me to stick to my workout routine 😆.
You are wrong if you think I am a K-drama addict because I am not. I only watch anything with Jang Hyuk in it and ignore the rest. I am a minimalist when it comes to entertainment or most things in my life. Here's one post, The Minimalist Lifestyle | How I Incorporate Minimalism In My Day to Day Life - A Peek Inside My Daily Routine that tells you how I practice minimalism daily. But let's not talk about that now, and please forgive me because I often go off on a tangent 😁.
Now let's focus on the painting.

I edited the picture digitally to produce a stencil outline. Then I traced it on my drawing paper. It's a simple process but a fun way to create creative artwork. There are many ways you can use the outline. I can doodle in it or draw whatever patterns I like to fill up the outline. When it comes to art the possibilities are endless. The point is to enjoy the process and have fun doing it. I often feel pressured to produce a certain outcome in my drawings. This makes art less enjoyable and feels forced. I guess this is the root cause of my art block. I need to let go of my perfectionist tendency and be like a child again in my approach to art.
I really enjoyed painting this fan art because I don't have the added pressure to produce something that must have a monetary value attached to it. Since this is fan art, I obviously can't sell it or risk violating the MBC's copyright.
If you are wondering what materials I used to produce this painting, I listed them down here
- A4 size 300gsm watercolor paper
- Faber Castell watercolor pencils
- Derwent Inktense ink pencils
- Markers and black fine liners
And, of course, the progress photos which are self-explanatory.
That's it for now. If you read this far, thank you. I appreciate it so much! Kindly give me a follow if you like my content. I mostly write about making art, life musing, and our mundane yet charming family life here in Klang Valley, Malaysia.

That's a really good artwork. I'm also as big fan of Jang Hyuk but I prefer to see him in Kdramas that have action. Haha.
Well Done ✌️
Yay! 🙏
I love to watch him in anything, but my favorite is his appearance in variety shows. He is just himself, minus his celebrity persona, and it's fun to watch him so dorky and extremely adorable in those shows 😆

What a fun post! I love that you showed the process for your creation. I think you might have inspired me to have a go at some artwork myself.
I came in via Dreemport. 💛
I am glad it inspired you to make some art 😃..thank you for stopping by and commenting!
This is nice. I watched the Chinese version of this drama amd it was interesting
I watched snippets of the Taiwanese version on Youtube, but I prefer the Korean version. Just love their intense chemistry. Thank you for reading and commenting!

Hehe ☺ being a sleepy artist with such a masterpiece motivates me to do anything 🤣 but still I do nothing .
C'mon you can do it!! 👏😄
