I Made a Water Droplet Art

Our professor just gave us an assignment to sketch a water droplet in a paper and I would say that I hate it. It's because I don't really have the talent when it comes to art but since it is a requirement, I have to do it anyway. But I'm starting to like doing arts and trying to upskill.

I started by creating an outline of the droplet. At first, my plan was to draw only one but since it is not in proportion to the paper, I had to add two more drawings.

I started tracing the outline and then proceeded to sketch the sides of the droplet.

I used a 6B pencil for this because I have it in my case that I also used before from my drawing subjects.

They said I shouldn't put much pressure when sketching, so I maintain the pressure that I was putting while doing the artwork.

I sketch the inside and outside sides first to put some shadows. Then I started to blend it using a cotton bud.

I left a white portion of the droplet to give some reflection effect and to make it realistic. After drawing the first one, I started another two and here is the final outcome!

I know that there's something to improve, but I think this is not bad for a beginner like me. Recently, I am starting to explore the world of art by trying to draw and other art forms. Who knows, it's an upskill after all.

I also posted this on Threads and Snaps and got some good feedback that it's good enough. Some even thought that it was a real droplet.

I love their compliments because I never expected it. I also asked my girl who loves art (I said give her honest feedback) and she said that it's good enough.
