Hello community!!! I don't usually post here, but I hope for all your support and good energy in this new year.
This is my first post of the year, and I'll start with Creatuanary:
Creatuanary is an annual art challenge that takes place throughout the month of January. Its name is a play on words between Creature and January.
The dynamics are very similar to the famous Inktober: artists must draw a different creature every day of the month following a list of pre-established themes or “prompts.”
Here are the key details to understand this challenge:
- Who created it?
It was started in 2017 by three professional Spanish artists from the world of illustration and concept art:
Joshuah Meservey
Mariano Villalba
Rafater
Their goal was to start the year off on the right foot, practicing character design and maintaining daily consistency.
- What does it consist of?
Every December, the official Creatuanary accounts publish a list of 31 concepts (one for each day of January). The concepts are usually original combinations, mythological beings, or abstract ideas, such as:
“Sand Shark”
“Library Golem”
“Obsidian Dragon”
- Who can participate?
Anyone! It doesn't matter if you're a professional in the industry or someone who is just learning to draw.
Media: You can use traditional drawing (pencil, ink, oil) or digital media.

PROCESS:
For this piece, I used a rough sketch, loose lines without final line art, just short strokes, and colored directly on top of it, without blending, just color on top of color.
I hope you like it!
See you soon!!!
