Today's sketch is an image of an African woman preparing her local meal, using a mortar and pestle. There's just something special about this locally prepared meal, although it's often stressful ,especially, the pounding process. In my home those days, we take turns to pound yam, and other solid food that requires pounding, cause it was really stressful for one person to handle. I really miss those days when we would sit round a big mortar and eat together as one family.
