Today I wanted to appreciate the increased growth of our stake, the more we add!
Consistently Growing
I still have, and fondly look back at, screenshots of my account when it was 0 Hive Power, or 2 Hive Power and remember what it was like!
It's taken a lot of time, investment and effort in order to have grown it to where it's at today. It's not the biggest stake in the world and it could certainly be bigger, but I'm definitely enjoying the progress I've made and how it's growing.
One of the really exciting things that I noticed the other day as I was perusing the HiveStats page for my account, is that I'm very close to getting 1k hive power per month! That's a truly amazing thing to think about getting to, and absolutely one of the things that I will be taking advantage of.
As time goes on here on the platform, we are evolving for sure. Our posting habits, post contents and friends that we make on the platform are constantly fluctuating and changing. I think that's awesome, and really an important thing for people to realize and understand. It's important that we try to spend time doing things we enjoy but also making changes and adjustments as we go along!
One thing that I have noticed, which is both great as well as bittersweet, is that very frequently these days my curation rewards for the week are higher than my post rewards. I know that is an excellent challenge to have, but it helps advocate for how important Hive Power is. Many people abuse Hive Power, cashing out everything that they've got and spend it. That's their prerogative but it's also my choice and ability to support them or not.
Recently many of us medium to moderately sized stake people have decided that we are not going to be supporting people who are cashing everything out. I think this is a really important thing, because although Hive is a platform where we are free to choose what we do with it, the people are also free to not do something with it based on what we see others doing. With the folks who just withdraw everything, that's your choice and my curation rewards will not, or extremely minimally come from those individuals. This is an important thing for people to take into consideration, I think!
With getting to nearly 1,000 Hive Power per month, powering up almost everything I make (save a few liquid Hive I am reserving for playing with the markets if things fluctuate the way they recently did a few weeks ago) I am really able to make some considerable improvements in my stake, which then come back as increased returns on the curation and stake front. I plan on constantly growing the stake for as long as I can, hopefully many years, before I do any withdrawals.
One of the things that has also been important, and something I am advocating for in terms of stake, is having more of a voice in terms of the proposals. I think it's fucking absurd that there are groups who get to siphon off 200k HBD in a short timeframe and provide abysmal evidence besides some retarded car, of their use of the money. I know that my vote itself doesn't make a giant impact, but the more I grow my stake the more it affects the Return Proposal that I am telling so many people about. The harder we make it for sloppy actors to withdraw funds from the platform, the more we can bring about positive change for the ecosystem as a whole!

I do a quarterly stocktake of my account just to keep track of my progress. Interestingly, I wrote something similar today as I recently reached the status of a whale! Hehe!

It's good to do a periodic review of the status, so that we can keep a fresh perspective on things but not necessarily go nuts crunching the numbers every minute of the day. That's not healthy!
Hehe thanks! Yeah I agree it's not healthy and I am not too fixated of the ups and downs day in day out, especially since curation is something that is not within one's control. Just put myself out there to engage people and read stuff, and leave the rest to luck. :)
