RE: Why should you get more upvotes?

in Ask the Hive2 years ago

I was just chatting with a friend yesterday about the churned-out content that we often come across on Hive as opposed to decent great quality content. I don't think it is unique to Hive but I do think that curators should be focusing on rewarding content which is reflective of the quality that they wish to see representing the platform.

And you are 100% correct! Hive is a platform that thrives on engagement! Writers cannot expect to land on the platform and build a decent following for their blog if they are not prepared to engage BOTH on their own posts and on the posts of others. People need to have a give and take mentality. Supporting others with encouraging or insightful comments, nurturing relationships with likeminded writers - these things are the value-add that being a part of the Hive community brings... if people are prepared to step outside of their own bubbles.

And I am so happy that you are finding joy in being a part of Dreemport 💗I joined Dreemport in August '21, a couple of months after it launched, and I have never looked back. It provided me with a wonderful outlet for sharing my Hive posts and exposing me to a wide variety of posts of all genres. Dreemport ensured that I got guaranteed eyes on my content when I was still very new to Hive. The enhanced value of community that Dreemport brought has also given me a blogging family who brings so much joy to my days and the support and guidance I have received has been immeasurable. Some of these dreemers have since become treasured friends off-chain too. I love the monthly collaboration challenges that Dreemport runs with different Hive communities, introducing those communities to dreemers and thereby increasing the number of members and posts in those communities as well as introducing Dreemport to existing community members to show how we can complement and add value to their Hive experience.

I loved this comment of yours, Strega! I've been absent from Hive for a few weeks... and before that didn't manage to post much in April either - life decided that it had other things in store for me... and pulled me away for a short time (that can be frustrating in itself lol) ... But I'm back writing... for me, this means that I may have a post in a few days time as I usually spend days writing, researching and editing my fiction posts... and yes... sometimes my posts earn very little despite the many hours that I put into them and sometimes I am fortunate enough to garner a few higher value upvotes... but regardless, I love the engagement I receive on my posts and I love engaging with others on theirs. It's this back-and-forth in the comments that create true connection and value. !LUV !ALIVE !LADY

Missed you @samsmith1971 so much!

Yeah, I am spending days on drawing, and sometimes hours on writing. English is my second language, so it is actually take my good while to make sure that my metaphors and phrasal verbs make any sense :D In this way, I not only improve my language skills, but take a step forward in building better quality content.

What I try to say- when you do what you love, time passes unnoticed :) and you are just grateful you can do what you want to do in this very moment.

Completely agree 💗And I've missed you too! I'm going to check out your blog later today to catch up !LUV
