As someone new to Hive blockchain, I firmly believe that every author who posts quality content deserve more upvotes. And that the post passed a certain standard like there is so much effort put into it. What a thought-provoking question for today, acid! I love to hear your perspective as a manual curator in Hive. Have a nice time and take care.

I don't disagree but I think that content in and of itself isn't everything, I'd much rather curate users who create content and are socially active and receive engagement on their posts than those who don't. Unfortunately there's still way too many votes occurring where they don't take that into account which often leads to a lot of posts on trending with very low engagement/consumption.
Yes, I so agree with you. I also believe that the success of every content creator is always correlated to engagement. No matter how good anyone is as a writer or an author, if there is no connection with the audience, it does not make any difference at all. Engagement always makes a difference, and it always feels so good to meet people worldwide with a different perspectives on life.
