Who are some new overlooked authors on Hive?

in Ask the Hive17 hours ago

Every now and then I like to take suggestions by the community to recommend me some new users to follow.

I've to this day done all of my votes manually. Sure some times I may not vote on posts that may require me to read the whole post but I have yet to cast votes using automatic services or trailing other people. That is a lot of manual clicks!

According to @hivebuzz I have a total of 161496 upvotes under my account currently. Considering I've been on this chain for over 8 years, that's an approximate 55 votes per day!

Some days I may vote quite a lot and some days not so much, recently for instance I've been a lot more active socially which has "wrecked" my voting power quite hard, currently sitting at 35% mana.

Either way, I also follow quite a lot of people. While my following isn't primarily suited based on my interests as I'm also trying to mainly curate people as encouragement and for retention, there's quite a mix of old authors who may come back some day, some I really value and post regularly and then some I try to follow whenever I remember and notice them doing some good work. Recently for instance I've been following a lot of amazing artists contributing to the @holozing community.

There's always room for more and if my voting power is rekt I can always jump on to other accounts to vote posts up as long as it's in the scope of that particular project's curation.

Have you noticed/followed any new authors lately who you feel could use some more curation attention?

Do let me know in the comment section. I'll upvote and direct some @commentrewarder tips towards the good ones. Feel free to also tag them to make it easier for me to open up their profiles!

Feel free to recommend yourself as well but keep in my there's no guarantees that I may follow through with following or curating. Thanks.

I'm always looking for these, so expect me to poach some from your comments!

That's what I intend also 😃

Me, three, though I don't have that much curation to spread around but I like variety.

Also, thank you @meesterboom - you know why 😍

Waaaah 😃

It doesn't matter if you don't have much to spread around, the fact you do counts! 😃

Only one so far, I am fussy arse.

I would suggest @lolodens for his insightful posts about life, side hustles, art, and games.

He creates beautiful Hive footers too... he made mine! :)

Thanks, that seems like a great suggestion for me! Followed!

That's so cool of you. Thanks!

Good news for @lolodens.

@honeydue produces some consistently great content. @fermentedphil, @nancybriti1 and @dbooster as well!

Thanks for your mention, @ericvanwalton. I'm honored. I appreciate your recognition because you know I admire you a lot and am a fan of your writing. Hugs

You're welcome, Nancy! I enjoy your work also! I hope you have a wonderful evening.

Wow! Thanks for considering me a good author. I never thought of myself that way. I only see myself as someone who talks a lot. Hahaha!
!LOL

To talk a lot is not easy to do 😅 (at least for me). It requires knowledge and experience.

I find many of your posts entertaining too.

I’m sure you’ll do fine 👍

hahaha! Thanks!

I have an addiction to taking inventory at the blacksmithing shop.

Not new but overlooked: @theworldaroundme Not only useful joyful-to-read information but also beautiful images.

Good suggestion. The blog page is nice and has consistent look. 👍

yeah, I also enjoy her blog, with colorful photograph.

Followed, great one!

@shawnnft mostly makes posts about splinterlands, eating out and music. I think he could use a bit higher rewards.

I've seen the username around quite a bit and seems to do well with rewards!

Also not really that new anymore, but thanks for the suggestion :D

TT he called me new sad

im not new bro !!!!!!!

New compared to me.

you on hive longer than me!!!!

I joined today

A post that I think deserves some more upvotes is @pandamama - especially for her Panda Picks posts on Vibes. She spends so much time going through entries and looking for some gems. You can see her latest post here - Thanks for all your hard work on manually upvoting.

Thank you, definitely very underrewarded. I'll try my best to change that if I see their posts on my feed!

It’s not just because I’m returning the compliment given to me, I also don’t think he’s an overlooked blogger. To those reading this comment, consider checking out @curamax ’s posts and see for yourself how enjoyable his content is to read. In fact, I’m not just following him, he’s also in my favorites feed.

Cheers, I'm already following from before! :)

I think at the moment I'm personally most invested in @aftersound content, because of Splinterlands news, thoughts and ideas. He is definitely not overlooked, he is a very well known figure in Splinterlands, I think most people know who he is. He also does content outside of Splinterlands too.
On hive he mainly posts his youtube video links which are the main core of his content, but he also adds some things in form of blog text too.

Also for someone who is relatively new on this platform and creates quite good content is @foxkat . I know her in real life personally and I think she would love to gain followers on her blog page. She doesn't post that often, but whenever she does, I enjoy the posts.

Appreciate the support!

I agree with aftersound recommendation. Great YouTube content on Splinterlands and Hive

Have you seen the Holozing stuff from @sidekickmatt? He does other cool comics regularly on Hive, but should be getting more love and followers.

Appreciate the shout out, @steevc!

35%!! Fecking hell, control yourself man! 😃

it's been hard lately!

I am a new user in this community, and still have a lot to learn, I hope friends can help me to exist in this community

Welcome! Seems you're off to a great start!

Okay, this is a brilliant initiative. And I hope a lot of users get to benefit from it. These users aren't new but they put out quality content and engage furiously, so I do hope they can be supported.
@seki is a stellar writer and a staunch engager on Hive.
@omokhafue writes brilliant reviews and is also a soulful artist.
@oluchi31 from book reviews, to movie reviews and everything else, she gives out beautiful content.

Thank you for the opportunity to showcase them.🌸

Thank you so much dearie. This recognition really means a lot to me. You are a wonderful writer yourself and I admire your works all the time

Thankyou so much @jhymi. I genuinely appreciate all the support you've been giving me,thankyouu🫶. You're amazing yourself,so amazing. Your writing captivates me every single time I read it.

Can I also seriously suggest you check out @novacadian, my word that guy is posting some unique and amazingly good content, but his posts are very undervalued.

Thanks for the mention, @peaceandmoney!

Hehe most of the authors that I follow have been on Hive for sometime. There's just too many to name hehe!
Shoutout to some of my friends here @blitzzzz @vaynard86

Thanks for the mention bro!

You are welcome!

Awesome! Thank you for doing this every now and then.

@abenad has been here barely a year, but she invests her efforts in others with her engagement, as well as her original creative crochet crafts and posts. She's consistent and I think she's underrated. Perhaps she could get some more love.

Thank you for the mention.

Hello @acidyo
Thank you very much for this opportunity...
I suggest @emmanuel237 especially on this post of he's https://ecency.com/hive-174578/@emmanuel237/what-is-the-main-cause

He's just new to Hive and he's really been putting in the effort but his account is not doing quite well.

I would have like to suggest my self too cause my account isn't doing well on upvotes either lol 😁, but I'll leave it up to you.

Have a nice day @acidyo 🙏

Hello thanks 🙏 for this opportunity my self too I need the support too @franco10 thanks 🙏

I would have suggested but they aren't so new on the chain, however they make good post, and they are doing well.. Should I go ahead to suggest anyway?

Sure go ahead!

Okay, @ibbtammy , she writes very deep thought about life, relationship and all.

@bipolar95 , she's a prolific writer who explores different aspects of writing.

@wongi deals more on DIY and creativity, please feel free to check anyone of them out do as your heart compels you.

Thanks for the opportunity.

Awwww Bebe!!!! Thank you, thank you!!!! You just made my day with this 😍💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿

This means a lot to me Amie dear. I feel honoured to know that my crafts and creativity as a whole isn't always overlooked😊. And just so you know, you are an equally amazing authour who deserves the best.

Thank you lovely.

Ohh Amie thanks a lot for the mention, it means a lot to me❤️

Great ones, thanks! Followed all.

Good way to help great unnoticed authors. I would have recommend myself but I am no longer new on Hive.

There are many authors I have met and they are really amazing with their content. They have a unique niche and I really admire them a lot. I feel like still promoting them even though they are not new, you guys can check out their blogs.

@Jane1289 shares a lot about her outdoor exploration and she's is really good. Her story and pictures will make you stay glued to her blog.

@olujay for tech post, he brings great updates and even runs a tech community on Hive

There is @Deraa @Jhymi @Nkemakonam89, there are fantastic authors as well and I enjoy reading their blogs.

@honeydue is a minimalist and there is a lot you can learn from her blog.

It's a long list and I am happy to have met these amazing authors on Hive.

Thank you, sir! You're fine author yourself and deserve more eyes, too.

Lemme piggy-back the attention on this post and add Digital Lifestyle community prompt. Who knows who'd find the community relatable?

I was just thinking about what to post about on here and needing to get back into writing, as in like fictional content, on here.

At least with fictional content I know I'm at least trying to create something of value. Even though there are other things I'd like to post about, there's the risk with some things that people will view it as a shit post. Or, conversely, I can work way too hard on making some content, taking pictures, etc, and not see much of any reward for my content. Which, while the only reason isn't the reward, still kinda sucks after all the effort.

But I still have so much to figure out and remember about the projects and groups on here.

I'll check out this @holozing you mentioned.

I can't really suggest anyone, been to so many communities on Hive, and seen some pretty good post. If no all most of the interesting once are those of newbies, but their lack of popularity brings their downfall.

Have you followed any yourself?

The people, yes a few, I have followed some. Not all.

I am also a newbie. I am just two getting to three month on HIVE. I really haven't understand the platform.

Hey @acidyo, for me you seem to have come out of nowhere and appear to be one of the genuinely good guys. I have to be honest and say that while Hive is an amazing, unique place on the blockchain with so much potential, some days it feels like I'm banging my head against a brick wall on Hive when it comes to rewards.

Therefore, could I recommend one of my posts that really could do with a little attention given the efforts that went in to making the post and could I also be cheeky and recommend my friend @harbiter and ask you to visit one of his posts who I think deserves more attention.

https://peakd.com/finance/@peaceandmoney/like-mother-like-son-but-which-note-is-worth-more

https://peakd.com/hive-164411/@harbiter/egvkytux-hive-164411

Can I also ask is there no way one of the Hive whales, perhaps one of the less active with their stake, could consider setting up a curation type live initiative or show on Discord for us Hivians who aren't getting the attention we deserve, where we could present a post and discuss it with others while getting some extra engagement and rewards, to help raise our profile? Or structure it as a Dragons Den type show where we pitch our posts and let a panel or the audience decide which post deserves a whale vote? Would that be possible? I'd be happy to help in any way I can to help set up the show.

You do yourself no favours by delegating out 95% of your stake. I won't say anything else, it's just a hint.

So as a nooby to the platform I have to navigate a ton of things. Some say delegating is fine, others say not so fine. I really don't know, but I have explained my decision to delegate in previous posts and I believe the rationale is sound.

If I undelegate I have a vote strength that is worth $0.02, if I'm lucky. That will generate me virtually nothing in HP so I can not grow my stake. The delegation gets me a Hive drip and vote support so that once those posts pay out every few days I can power up all of that Hive. I could not do that with the current price of Hive by simply relying on my stake to vote.

Can I ask are you saying that because of the delegation of 923 HP to @pimp.token that is why I am not receiving better rewards for my posts?

If I undelegate I have a vote strength that is worth $0.02, if I'm lucky. That will generate me virtually nothing in HP so I can not grow my stake.

That is only true if you vote comments/posts that barely get past the threshold if at all. If you vote on posts that get past the threshold you'll still receive your fair share of curation rewards (even as little as .001 hp per vote).

I guess what @slobberchops is saying is that as a newcomer it's better to have some stake and delegate part of it out later on when you have more.

Saying that you'll get votes based on your delegation is also not amazing considering if everyone did that then they'd just get their daily voting power returned on a post without sharing it with anyone else. (not saying that's what pimp.token does (I don't know what they do really), but some do it like that which is frowned upon for proof of brain curation).

Perhaps that might be a better way forward I really don't know, there's so much to consider. I will get thinking some more. But thanks for the input.

You did respond to @acidyo's post saying 'who aren't getting the attention we deserve'.., I am letting you know why from my perspective, but that doesn't mean it's everyone's view.

Yes I responded to @acidyo based on your comments. I am considering reducing me delegation by half, because I can see both sides of the argument here. And yes I appreciate what you're saying and your perspective.

By the way I don't know if you saw my message yesterday but I published a post and forgot to add @commentrewarder to the beneficiary despite pledging to use @commentrewarder on all my posts now, I didn't do it on purpose I promise!

Can I ask are you saying that because of the delegation of 923 HP to @pimp.token that is why I am not receiving better rewards for my posts?

Everyone on HIVE has their own opinions about delegation, and so do I. I am not going to suggest you do anything different..., it's your stake and one cardinal rule is 'never tell anyone what to do with their stash'.

But you literally just told me that you do yourself no favours delegating out 95% of your stake. So you are clearly telling me it's unwise to delegate my stake.

That statement is true, but I will never tell anyone what to do with their stake. Do I have to point it out? 😃 I have noticed your content, and it's fine. Enough said?

I'm just getting mixed messages from you. On the one hand you say you never tell people what to do with their stake but I have now clearly got the message from you that I should not be delegating my stake because you told me I'm doing myself no favours delegating my stake.

I'm pleased you like my content and I am putting in 1000% to virtually all my posts. I do have the odd lazy post but even those ones have value in my humble opinion. I guess I have to wonder, if it really is the content that matters most or the relationships we build and the people we know on Hive. Perhaps it's both.

55 votes per day on your account is great because you take the time to read the posts and understand them, that for me is an added value and not voting for the sake of voting

that's an approximate 55 votes per day!

That's a lot! Then I read this:

my voting power quite hard, currently sitting at 35% mana.

Oww shoot, I'm not letting my mana sit under 85%. Sometimes it goes down to 70% though but it's rarely to happen.

I think there are new users out there who are really passionate when it comes to Hive tho.

Got any in mind? ^^

I guess when it comes to returns it doesn't matter much where your voting power is at as long as it's not sitting idly at 100% mana.

EXcelente.

Hi, I have recently joined Hive. So, not much is written. If you wish can visit my posts and it would help me if any suggestions are made for me and my content.

Won't follow you right now as you're so new, but if you keep it up and I run into you later again I might. :)

Thanks 😊 I will try to keep up, learn, and apply new things.

Somebody already mentioned @lolodens who I follow. I also follow @taskmaster4450 for his insight on AI.

Oh! Thanks! Earlier, I thought @curamax just mentioned me because he's nice, but now I'm wondering if I actually have talent in writing. Thank you, and it seems you're also entertained by reading my writings. Now, I feel like I need to improve my writing even more because people are actually noticing it. Hahaha!

Man, you are a truly innovator. The @commentrewarder initiative is pretty awesome and it will take the engagement on the Hive blockchain to a new level. Cheers!

I now see that I think it was just profile names you were after, thought you meant specific posts, sorry about that!

I don't use automatic votes either. I don't like them. I have to read to try to understand the publications to support.

Looking forward to seeing what people come up with. I'd like to spread my curation around a bit more than I already do

Hi, nice to meet you, I've uploaded content in your community, I don't think I've done it very well, I'm not an expert at drawing but I'll try harder to be able to do something of quality and for you to like it. Thanks for the interest in Hive content creators, that's very encouraging and I've used the @commentrewarder service, it's great. I wish you much success in your projects.

I love that you are looking to spread the wealth. I think an active community is what keeps people around. No one likes writing for no one to read it and engauge on it.
